I think they're waiting until they can figure out tire thermals, maybe then we'll see more track stuff. But yeah theres been a lot of offroad content lately. imo its becoming a little oversaturated compared to everything else
BeamNG's uniquely good at offroad vehicles, so it does make sense to lean more into that over circuit racing, where BeamNG is relatively weak compared to any modern racing sims. Personally, I'm hoping for more rally-related content, and more remasters in general. Most of the outdated vehicles have a ton of potential.
It is unfortunate that with all the off road content we've been seeing, rally racing has been left out. Night time rally racing is one of my favorite things to do in BeamNG. Of course doing it properly will require a fair bit of new UI and gameplay elements, but I hope to at least see some rally content in anticipation of those additions.
I've honsestly had enough of the off-road content, I just want tire thermals and dynamic weather, then the devs can do whatever the fuck they want.
thats like asking the chef "Wheres my goddamn meal?!" and the chef politely replies that its still being prepared. Need to have a little patience if the product/feature isn't finished.
I remember that when they reveled johnson valley they had a atv thing that what looks like to be in that teaser. So they could be implementing it now --- Post updated --- This is what i was thinking.
Been seeing some griping about it most likely being something else offroad, and I hate to say that I agree, in theory at least. I myself definitely prefer road cars in the game, but I know the game is great for offroading and I respect those who enjoy it. I'm glad the devs are making things they like. Also I realize that all the car types I'd most like in the game are probably just as niche anyway... Although, if you think about it, if you go back far enough, basically all cars were offroadable... I'm just saying, something from like 1900-1920 could be grand fun for road and offroad players alike.
About track stuff, I think they must also be trying to figure out a way of making the carbon-ceramic brakes (plus the carbon fiber roof of the ETK 800 Sedan - for some reason, they made this possible with the carbon fiber roof of the Cherrier FCVs) actually weigh less than their steel counterparts, since bugs couldn't allow them to do just that with the Scintilla and the modern ETK units so far. Once they figure this out, the 5-cylinder FCVs could also have carbon-ceramic brakes up front, for offsetting the weight of the I5 and the lighting-up tendency of the rear end while braking. --- Post updated --- Don't know about outsourcing, but you're right, there is some similarity to the Polaris RZR (classic BeamNG mix between reality and fantasy, which I like very much)!
Only problem with beam is that they add all of this new off-road content, but it’s still mediocre because we don’t have deformable terrain
Vehicles still interact differently with different surfaces and terrains, calling it "mediocre" is a bit harsh. I expect we'll see improvements to the tire and terrain physics in the future but fully deformable terrain is a long way off; especially considering how that would affect the games performance
Tdev was kinda telling us that we would be getting deformable terrain with the utility update. i love off-road in video games, and right now, beamng is still mid at off roading. Add tyre thermals and it becomes the best sim racing game, add deformable terrain and it becomes the best off-road
maybe its something like the Johnson Valley update but for racing onroad stuff with the tire update would make sense but not as big
I really hope they begin to steer towards street cars and more street related content. and as someone who almost never uses Johnson Valley, or the new off-road stuff, is it almost seems like a waste.
look the utv is cool but where is my moonhawk remaster i am no longer being polite, give us a remastered moonhawk
