the thing about BeamNG is the fact its engine is so advanced and the fact the average BeamNG player has 2137 mods running at the same time means that it would take some very intense optimization to ever hit a stable 60 (realistically 30) FPS, most BeamNG Youtubers (including you-know-who) can usually get great FPS simply by having extremely powerful hardware (which is well... expensive) after all, according to the Steam Survey almost 32% of all PC's that participated had a 6-core CPU, which translates to a Core i5/Ryzen 5. and the way BeamNG cars work is by utilizing well, CPU Cores. while i do believe optimilization could be possible, it would really need to make a huge dent for VR to be even worth adding. and knowing from my experience with BeamMP servers, you need to factor in costs of a bucket, because it could easily become motion sickness simulator --- Post updated --- while 32% might not be much to some people, keep in mind that steam has over 300 million active users, and not every one of them had done the hardware survey. (according to Bing AI, around 90 million did the survey, but i wouldn't trust this estimate considering that its well... AI)
Recommend hitting the used market if you’re pinching for money. Got a HP Reverb V2 used for a bargain. Cheap enough to say “this will be for Beam when VR releases”.
How about a little discussion on the extended topic of "tire heating and wear" --- Post updated --- Don't forget to buy a rtx5090 for VR it will be perfect for beamng
The KLJP didn't overwrite base-game content though, which is why it was left there, i'm thinking they only looked hard into those mods related to the coming update for overwrite to prevent update issues and whatnot
Not gonna lie, it took me almost that whole video to realize that it was the engine cooling down and not the sound of the starter clicking due to a charging issue lol. I was expecting it to start rolling down the hill and pop start at the end. I never actually noticed the absence of the sounds of your motor cooling down, but once you hear it it just adds yet another touch of realism. It really is the little things that make this game special. Hot (esp overheated) motors make absolutely brutal sounds when doused with water, wonder if that's something they've thought of adding.
This is my thoughts exactly Its great they are working on VR support but i dont even think vulkan will bring in performance enough to make it a GOOD experience in VR And i dont even run mods except for beammp...
realistically we'd have to wait for hardware to get good enough to run BeamNG without any issues (and for the said hardware to become a most used on the hardware survey), IF BeamNG doesn't get more resource intensive if the devs start focusing less on adding new features (maybe a whole different update scheme to fit these optimization updates within the 3 month normal updates, if possible) and more on making it run better on lower specced hardware, I imagine we could have it stable enough by around 5-10 years. which is a generous estimate
And there's plenty of chances to cool an engine down with water in this sim! I hope they've thought of adding this as well!
Actually I probably don’t want to know --- Post updated --- Wait do you mean the Instant Winrar skin?
