IIRC, the reason why Derby Arenas (and Hirochi Raceway, to a lesser extent) is such a one-trick pony is that the events that are supposed to take place there involve a lot of vehicles. With so many cars on screen at once, you want the background to be as optimized as possible, and a large, high-detail map with abundant public roads doesn't really fit the bill.
1. It is not yellow, as by default it is WHITE. 2. Just because kids ride in a vehicle doesn't make it a school bus. If you conclude that something is a school bus just because it CAN carry children, then you must also consider a Boeing 747 a school bus. 3. It has the doors of a BUS, because it is a BUS. It is an American transit/metro style bus, and it is NOT, in any way, a SCHOOL BUS.
thank you for saying that, my mind keeps shutting down when i think about how to respond to that, now i will say i did carpool as a kid but i still know the difference between transit buses and school buses the fact that their yellow, taller, AND DONT HAVE ADS ON THE SIDES,
Well that concept of a dedicated vehicle to be just a school bus is a pretty much American only thing. Where I live, a School bus is a bus that its main use is to carry children to the School. Lately there are more focused school buses, but they are based on city buses, but with a more off-road look (that is because the Government offers incentives for municipalities to buy buses that are more capable of off-road stuff, since a lot of children live on rural areas and have the right to go to school), with some of them being even 4x4, but those are rare. Since that's a new-ish program, when those buses get older, they will probably be used to carry rural workers around (nowadays, old city buses are used for that task, but "off road buses" will definitely be better suited for that job).
Great, now that we know that the wentward is, isn't and definitely, certainly mightn't be a school bus, let's maybe get back to speculation. Surely the 'lift' post in development media can inspire more ideas. I like this idea actually, though this would only be something for a later time as another new project to pay attention to would slow down development right now.
yeah, and? the stambecco is internally called "midtruck" and it's anything but "mid", the internal names are made right at the start of a vehicle's development, so of course they're subject to change. even with that, I'm not sure what you're getting at, since schoolbuses also operate in cities?
Aargh Why are we arguing about if the Wentward bus is a school bus? It is obviously a transit bus. However, that doesn’t mean that it can’t be used for the transportation of students, if the school district buys some. However, its main purpose is not to carry just students, but anyone in the city. This does mean that students can still get on the bus, but it wouldn’t have just students. A school bus, such as a Thomas Saf-T-Liner C2 or a Thomas Minotour, is more purpose-built for the transportation of students. However, it can still be used to transport the general public, if bought by a city or company. The H-Series Bus mod by Dummiesman is a great example of this. tldr: The Wentward DT-L40 is built to be a transit bus, and something like a Thomas Saf-T-Liner C2 is built to transport students.
The Wentward DT-L40 knows what it is at all times. It knows this because it knows what it isn't. By subtracting what it is from what it isn't, or what it isn't from what it is - whichever is a city bus, commonly used in cities for bussing purposes - it obtains a difference or deviation, such as the notion that it is a school bus. The Beam Forums subsystem uses deviations to generate corrective posts to drive the DT-L40 from what it isn't to what it is, arriving at the type of vehicle it actually represents.
