Update Speculation thread

is 0.31 supposed to release around thanksgiving (fall) or more Christmas (winter)?

 

Probably ~ 3-5 month from now on.
Also, devs, T-series remaster please!

I'm hoping that the next update makes your personal car more important and forces you to use it in most missions in career mode. Right now there is no real use for your own car and no real reason to spend money on upgrading it other than for fun while freeroaming.

 

I speculate that the next major update will be 0.31 and it will release in the next few months

 

Considering how many people have asked for this, I wouldn't be surprised if the devs at least allow you to use your personal vehicle in Career Mode for at least some missions.

In some missions, if you get al least 1 star, you can click the option to use your car.

 

Yeah but it would be more rewarding if you had to build up your car to be able to pass missions with it instead of just getting a loaner for every mission on the first play through.

 

I'm aware of that - but that's not what a lot of people are asking for. They want to be able to do those missions from the first playthrough with their personal vehicle. Right now, the only thing you can get for using your personal vehicle in Career Mode missions is bonus stars.

Would a system like that come out in 0.31? Possibly. But judging by how often Career Mode gets updates, it's likely we won't see anything significant for Career Mode until next September.

 

you should be able to unlock missions progressively with the more vehicles you own, if you own a 4x4 car you can do crawling missions, if you own a race car you can race and so on.
That's just a personal preference though.
For that what you mean there are already missions, campaigns and scenarios.

 

Disagree. I would speculate that they were implementing important basic systems and that's what took so long, and now that those are shipped, the development would go faster, building on top of those basics.

 

Hmmm..that could be a good idea - but it does conflict with the current 5-car-max garage.

I'm aware of those missions, campaigns, and scenarios, too - but they're still not what people are asking for in Career Mode.

Hopefully, that's the case, but ehh...wouldn't be surprised if we have to wait until 0.33/0.34 until we get another update to Career Mode. 0.27 did add new Evade missions for Career Mode (although those additions were left unmentioned in the 0.27 devblog).

I honestly hope the next update is a bit late out of the doors so to speak. 0.30 felt rushed to me, very buggy upon release.

 

Controversial opinion, but a 5-car garage is a lot. What do you need here? A track race car, a road* race car, an off-roader, a delivery truck... What else?



* it'd be cool if the devs implemented road legal checks on parts like SLRR did. You have racing slicks and N2O on your Pessima? Believe it or not, you get a fine for driving on streets. Do it too many times and you lose your car papers and have to bail out your car.

They won’t know if anything is wrong with VR for some people if they don’t give it to those people. That’s just how it works.

 

Hmm that's really a disappointing decision and one that I hope they reevaluate... I hope that they allow for the choice for a hardcore mode or something when creating a new save because the way the current system works with loaners for every event totally pulls any fun and immersion out of career mode for me, and I would assume many others... Once again please reevaluate that decision devs...

To give some constructive feedback, I could imagine some missions like the bus route missions or trash collection or stuff like that being part of a "job" where you sign on with a company and they provide the loaner since it doesn't make much sense to personally purchase these kinds of vehicles, but especially motorsports events should be personal vehicles only unless there is some story reason for you to be using someone else's vehicle. The fact that you currently use loaners for everything makes personal vehicle pretty close to completely pointless which is a shame.

 

Talking about legality, does police even spawn in traffic? I haven't seen one spawn yet, and we already have a system that tracks driving offences

 

I will guess... Next update will improve the Sky/Weather in some way With more to come later. So much would be involved with a compete weather system update I would say maybe snow improvement next with Winter update, then rain in the Spring update. Water Accumulation on the track for dynamic track conditions at some point much later.
