Am I the only one who thinks fleshing out single-player before working on multiplayer is the right choice? So many games these days let single-player languish while shoving "social" garbage on us. See: NFS Rivals, Forza Horizon 2/3 getting rid of prepackaged AI opponents in favor of "Drivatars", Gran Turismo's selection of single-player events getting much thinner as soon as online multiplayer hit, then losing all true endurance races once GT6 arrived (though they do a better job of managing career progression otherwise), so on and so forth. The old days when you had a good selection and progression of single-player events and championships, physics engaging enough to make solo flying enjoyable, maybe even a good long list of pre-packaged AI opponents... it was good worldbuilding and good game design, and if technological limitations force the BeamNG devs to focus on those things first, then maybe that's not such a bad thing.
lmao thats because you have two instances of BeamNG open. If there had been an update everytime that happened to me we would be on version 0.456.3.0
Hmm... new update or bug? Or two instances too. --- Post updated --- If you really wanted to run two instances (not recommended for weak computers) for what ever reason, just start another instance straight from the game directory, bypassing Steam entirely.
No, you are not the only one who thinks that focusing entirely on singleplayer will be better. After all, if normal players with their low-to-mid-spec computers cannot run singleplayer very well, then I cannot imagine how many issues multiplayer will give these computers (provided that it was made for proper demolition derbies) if it was added in. I think that we would have world-wide fire-caused destruction as people's cheap 'puters catch on fire from the stress that they would be put under in that situation. Why, even high-spec computers would likely catch on fire, too, as they would be overloaded almost immediately with all of that data to send through their connections (again, providing that this is made in the way that 99% of the community wants it, for satisfying destruction). One small thing that I am hoping for in this upcoming update (or in the next few) is the addition of more realistic transmissions that will not shift into reverse or park until the vehicle is stopped. That would add as much realism to this game as airbags would, and it wouldn't be as laggy on a computer, either. (I can imagine that it would be rather hard to implement, though).
Or maybe people could just buy a decent computer and the devs can focus on making the game instead of catering to dinosaur spec PC's. One thing I want to see more than anything this update is UI fixes, it runs far too slowly even on a decent PC.
True, but the fact is that by trying to make the game run on low-to-mid-spec PCs, the devs are (in my opinion, at least) helping out those with higher-end PCs run their game much more smoothly, as they can take full advantage of the developments made in improving FPS. And I would also like to see improvements in the UI, as well. I personally find it frustrating to constantly have to deal with a laggy UI as I try to figure out the speeds that I truly am achieving, and it's also annoying to have to constantly press "J" to try and eliminate all of that lag.
I don't expect any cars(but a surprise would be nice), but both maps look very close to completion, maybe we could have them both in 0.10?
In no way is Italy near completion. Sure, it probably could be finished in 2017, but it most likely will be finished in mid-2018. The fact is that Italy is four times larger than any other standard map that we have seen in BeamNG, which means that (combined with its sheer complexity and variety) it will take quite a bit longer to develop than WCA will.
This is a very wise thing to say. As time goes on, those FPS improvements will also allow players using high-end machinery to enjoy increasingly complex and detailed modded content.
Or you could just give us the money to buy a new computer... I could buy a new computer, but GPU's prices are too high because they're used by cryptocurrency miners. I'm waiting those prices to roll back and then buy a new computer.
As far as a "new" car for Italy, I'd like to see a Covet with selective AWD, a super low crawler gear and a small lift. Yeah yeah it's not exactly a Fiat Panda but it's close enough... Maybe throw in a 1000-1200cc engine for authenticity?
^ @SixSixSevenSeven Nope, GTX 1070/1060 too. The ASUS GTX 1070 Strix went from €490 to €630 in a few days.
Well, @Diamondback, in your message in the "Micro Blogs" section does that mean manual transmissions are unworkable? Or not?
What do you mean? Manual transmission still fully works but shifts that would be impossible to do in real life won't be possible.
Not here they haven't, nor in the US, more likely an unrelated issue near you. For reasons that boil down to plain idiocy, nobody really uses nvidia for mining, there's this falsehood being spread that you can only use AMD cards. Over here and seems on us suppliers, nvidia is in stock and not price hiked
Here the nvidia cards have also pulled in price because theyre used for mining. A buddy of mine has recently sold his 1080 founders edition for 550 euros
