a mini truck is way smaller than a truck frame, not to mention we have the pigeon. I suspect it will just be a really short maybe cabover semi. It has the same proportions as all of the other frames, its just shorter. https://www.beamng.com/attachments/upload_2023-11-15_22-19-11-png.1078627/ this could be helpful
Seeing the short frame makes me think of "Terminal tractors" (not sure if there is an english term, but that´s what they are called in Sweden) They are used to move trailers in terminals, and are just made to be as compact as possible. Usually they only have room for the driver in the cab. And seeing the hydraulic lift system showcased a while back made me think of this old truck lol (called "Svealast Tjorven"
i If we do get different types of cabs which seems likely, I wonder if there will be facelifts and different generations and different production years from the current ones.
If I'm wrong, I have the impression that your hydraulic lift system could be linked to this post Development Media | Page 8 | BeamNG
I'd love to see a V12 diesel (I mean c'mon, who doesn't want a V12 diesel, especially when joining two Gavril 10.6l TCX turbo I6s for making a gargantuan 21.2l twin-turbo V12? ), but I think it would be more suitable for the cab-in-the-middle style. More space up front and better cooling management too.
V12 engines are actually often in COE trucks opposed to conventional cabs. Isuzu and Tatra both use diesel V12 engines in their trucks. The two stroke Detroit Diesel 12V71 ended up in a lot of class 8 American trucks in the 1970's, both conventional and COE including the International Transtar (which started this conversation). Then there's the infamous GM twin 6, which was a gasoline V12 that ended up in a few GM trucks around this time. I thoroughly recommend everyone here look up videos of 12V71 truck's running, they make a lovely lovely sound
Old two strokes detroits sound so good! Would love to see some more engine variations as well. Considoring the amount of frames we are getting, I can only imagine the different combo´s we´ll be able to make. With mods or not.
Now that I think of it, a v12 diesel would make a lot of sense with a T-Series update But the question is: Will the cabover trucks be under a different model name or still classified as a T-Series. Will there be a rework of the mirror system, because if this update is focused on American Semi-trucks, wouldn't you want to back up trailers from inside the cabin? But with the era those new frames seem to be from (the old frikkin wheels, idk what theyre called) a 2-smoke diesel would make sense Just imagine hauling a big ol grain trailer with a full load down a tight city street with a big ol straight 6 2stroke diesel groaning and moaning underneath the hood (or cab) Even on the note of trucks Floating gears? that would be a cool feature to see implemented anyways, just my thoughts --- Post updated --- What about a jake brake? so many idea are goin thru my head right now --- Post updated --- Diesel V8? Like a big one for the T-Series Something to bridge the I6 and the theroetical diesel V12 all with 2smoke options
I'm caring about when will this release since it's just the frames done I expect it to be done by next year as a direct new year's release (1/1/2024) would be a nice way to start off the year. I doubt that it will make a December release since well, it's only the frames although if they can do that I would be amazed.
I would be interested to see more upfits, parts and pre/post facelifts for the T-Series, and hopefully more trailers, like a step-deck, chemical tanker, side, end and bottom dump trailer. May or may not happen, but it would be an interesting addition to the upcoming remaster for our beloved semi truck. What are your thoughts?
Diesel V8? Like a big one for the T thats what I'm sayin The groan of a 2smoke i6 would be amazing, even eargasmic
Just because they showed the frames does not mean that is all what they have completed thus far. For all we know, the remaster could be almost complete already apart form a few touch ups.
I just tested the floating gears out of curiosity, and it's already possible. for engines, I presume the engine we saw in the teaser is a remodel of the existing TCX engine, but I also wonder if we'll see the TCM engine out of the bus updated, and added to the semi as a more basic option. as for something like a 2-stroke V12, as much as it's also on my wishlist, I suspect the vehicle team are limited by what sounds are available as to what engines they implement. the wydra for example should have had a single cylinder engine if it were accurate to the argo, or perhaps an inline-twin, but it got a peculiar inline-3, likely just because they didn't have any thumper or twin sounds available. That doesn't rule out a 4-stroke diesel V8 at least, because I'm sure that with the sounds they already have TDK could mix up something.
