Here's our trucker right there! My Goodness, those old 2-stroke Detroit Diesels sound awesome, kinda like a diesel V8 and kinda not at the same time! The Twin-6 would be a very interesting concept to see in a late-50s/early-60s Heavy-Duty Pick-Up! --- Post updated --- The 8.9 TCM I6 indeed is perfect for some more basic/lighter-duty versions of the remastered T-Series and it's also got plenty of torque with its 2 turbocharger options, the T280 and the T350. Plus, it's got its own I6 sound, so it's easily told apart from the larger 10.6 TCX I6. As for an Inline-Twin for the Wydra, listen to this sound in a Fiat 500 0.9 TwinAir (lovely car, in my opinion) and it kinda feels like half an I4, so it could use a mix of the two I4 sounds we currently have, the old Asian and the new European I4.
Seeing the actual T-series has two sticks shift, and with the context to be a 50s/60s/70s truck, I think it could benefite a 20 gears quadriplexe or something like that. Maybe we have to configurate two TH8A.
me too, i was sleeping lol --- Post updated --- same --- Post updated --- here in south Africa we have a Hyundai H-100
I was wondering the same thing, if it’s a utility update, would kinda make sense to update the wentward too
The TCM is in fact a 6 cylinder, but the model seems very off. https://www.beamng.com/threads/solved-its-an-i6-is-the-wentward-engine-an-i4-or-an-i6.80880/
Exactly. I mean, the Wentward DT40-L turns 6 years old in April 2024, so it could go through some refreshing and a content expansion. What the hell? That's really strange! --- Post updated --- Wait, just found out that some engines indeed have some parts of their headers merged into one another. For example, the CrossFire V8 in the '84 C4 Corvette! @22:02 Maybe this is the case with the TCM too?
Now that I look at it, if Wentward were a real company, they would've used 4 exhaust ports instead of 6, for cost savings, and probably some sort of emissions compliance factors, just my thoughts though
I don't think these would be valid arguments for a company to do this. Emission compliance maybe (just maybe) 'cause I'm not a mechanic, but cost savings seems like the ultimate cheapskate tactic to me, with no benefit to the engine to justify it.
when do we expect this update? like no rushing the devs but like just speculation about when it will be done since like they got the frames working all they need is the model.
Sometime in the second half of December earliest maybe? Week before the holidays so they can release couple hotfixes perhaps
I believe it's gonna be close to Christmas, with my guess being on December 20th, because that's three months since the 0.30. Not too far off Christmas, so we can consider it a festive present, and not too close to Christmas either, so the dev crew can have a couple of hotfixes deployed by December 22nd (which is Friday) before they take their days off to rest. --- Post updated --- I just thought of something: since the Cab-Over style is very different from the Cab-In-The-Middle one we know with the T-Series, shouldn't the Cab-Over models have a different name so we can tell them apart more easily? Like the "B-Series"? Or even the "S-Series" or the "U-Series" ("U" for "Utility"), since both these letters are just one far off the existing "T-Series"? --- Post updated --- On the other hand, the "S-Series" could be used for a new ETK model, so I think it's already out of the question.
