You should try it some time, older Macks have a cult like following, and there’s good reason for it. Just look at how many R models are still on the road every day, a truck that other than a new hood really didn’t change over its near 40 year production cycle.
I'd like to, but the opportunity hasn't presented itself. I'd love to drive an old GMC general too, I just love how it and the Superliner look.
Damn, the truck pictured in your profile image is yours? That’s awesome! Mack is my second favorite semi-truck manufacturer. Not so much the modern designs, but their ‘50s-‘90s trucks were awesome. Diamond T (and Diamond Reo) also made a ton of cool trucks.
Honest question here How possible is it for BeamNG to have worked with SCS to make this update, or atleast got a few tips for American trucks, since SCS designers presumably have visited the US more than Beam devs Just a thought
There’s so much documentation on how semi trucks are made that’s available. I have pretty detailed diagrams for 1950s trucks lying around, and there’s a ton more for truck built into the early 2000s online, and a lot of the manufacturers will send you any documentation they have even if they no longer produce trucks. Point is; there’s no real need to work with outside devs on what is ultimately a very different end result. It’s possible I guess but I just think there’s no really need for it.
I know there has been some speculation already on the engines, cabs, and names but just for giggles i want to speculate on whether or not the t-series remaster will have starter options. Because having an air starter would be great especially if you want to recreate the Mack from mad max or the White 9000 tow truck from maximum overdrive, of course that would entail an air system mechanic, highly doubt it but a man can dream.
A simulated air system would be cool, even if only used for the brakes. I don’t see why it would be much more difficult than the hydraulic system already implemented for the dump bed. Only issue with an air starter is how do you start the truck with no air, like if you were spawning from new?
Air is not a fluid, and fluids do not typically like being compressed… that being said the basic principle of engine RPM spinning a thing to generate some manner of force that makes pistons go back and forth is the same.
oh so we are actually having like a full on trial for this, isn't that like, the dev's job? --- Post updated ---
I guess context matters, and I was thinking the entirely wrong context. An air system is indeed a fluid system.
Its one of those things that usually trips me up too, im always like "no but its a gas its like air it doesnt behave like a fluid" but the definition of fluid is actually really loose. Technically, window panes can be considered a fluid because they gradually melt and flow downwards (its why the bottoms of old windows get really foggy, its the glass melting and compressing down there)
If we do get an air system, it would be nice to get air suspension, as much as walking beam suspension is great for off-roading, air bags are much better for on-roading. There’s many old truckers tricks you can pull with air suspension kinda similar to how the low rider works in game…
Just hope the new frame will allow fire trucks.. been waiting and dreaming for the day for controllable Q siren, and hq fire truck.
god bronies are always problem causers OT if there will be more trailers for the t series they should totally add a magnet/crane to grab cars
I don't know if anyone talked about this, but I wonder what engine options will there be for the semi. Currently the only option is the 12 litre 6-cylinder, which is somewhat customizable, but a few more engines certainly wouldn't hurt.
You know thre MAN mod? I think those upfits will come with this remake (remaster or remake? I think remake, the mesh is different, the j-beam is different, not just new texture and renderer)
woah this T-series must stand for Tough series. SO much tough work to remake this tough rig.( sorry for the poor joke ) i wonder if we will get a RV version. And well i think everyone has said all there is to say Good work devs. as for other stuff. ( other then career am all for freerome ) ( career is very fun i admit ) I wonder if we will get other small parts for the other cars. I.E Sbr engines in sunburst, a touch up here a touch up there. ?
