I would also love to see a crane upfit with a makeshift electromagnet attachment that can attract a vehicle from above.
I'm wondering whether the rear axles on the upfit chassis are planned to be modular. They've all been shown with dual axles on walking beam leaf springs, but there's no reason they'd remove the current independent axle airbag setup, so there will be at least 2 axle variants, but why stop there? after all, we'd expect a rigid (day cab) truck of that size to be available with a single rear axle: and even the shortest upfit variant could easily fit a drop axle in the free space (oh you americans and your weird regulations, what's so bad about a normal tri-axle? ) If they're feeling really creative, they might even be planning a rubber block walking beam for the older basic model trucks. (and this would definitely be jbeam-able, you'd basically just use engine mount-style beams to mount the axle) in total, that would result in: -single leaf sprung -single airbag -dual leaf sprung -dual airbag -dual solid mount -dual leaf sprung +airbag drop axle -dual airbag + drop axle -dual solid mount +airbag drop axle the truckers could probably correct me on this, but I presume solid mounts aren't typically done on single axles, and drop axles have to be air sprung?
Up in Canada drop/lift axels are actually illegal, I usually only see them on dump trucks or heavy haul trucks. Granted US heavy haul is the rest of the world’s regular semi, the US has really light max truck weight for some reason, which is the other reason why they’re not that common especially on semis there’s just not enough weight to warrant them really. That being said, I have seen plenty of tri-drives for more heavy duty work. Also I’ve never seen a semi with a single rear axel that wasn’t on leaf springs. There might be a few odd balls that upgraded to something else, and the modern stuff might just be air ride, but I have just never seen them, especially during the time period the T series stems from. That being said it does look like the single axle trucks in the teaser are all on leaf springs too.
I compared the rows in an image editor, the bottom row of frames are slightly longer in wheelbase than the row above it. Like 2 feet or so
i been looking at firetrucks some/alot of those designs look like it IS possible to have an American and European design, with both being cab over, which is common fire trucks are mostly just what is shown is just add ons.. i hope and pray for the devs to make euro and American first trucks modern/slightly older, with the q siren being a special button to wind up and down from user.. i been hoping for this truck update for so long due to the frames can be used for so much, and there IS work that has to be done to make a fire truck, but i been waiting for years to have them properly implemented hopefully.
Just thought of something: a rusted out Banger/Demolition Derby variant of the T-Series would be really fun, especially with a ram plow stuck on the front. And I've got the name for it too: The Murderous! Plus, a rusted out paint design and a rusted out trailer (all three with rusted steel wheels and old tires to match) would also be good. I'd love to represent the truck antagonist from The Duel, of 1971!
I really want rusty wheels for the T-Series. A trailer with exhaust smoke staining the top front corners would also be great, along wit an old-style trailer, an old-style trailer with an old reefer, (and a modern reefer available for the newer trailers) and a trailer with a side door. I found an image of them all combined.
