This is what makes me tend towards an US trailer. Having the parts over the wheels move different than the wheels is a US design to me. Never seen something like this on an EU truck, maybe on some obscure logging equipment, they do all kinds of weird sliding stuff, but not a common container trailer. EU trailers almost always have the parts over the wheels and the wheels on one frame and then the extension coming out of it, US trailers sometimes/often two frames over each other that slide along. But most of them seem to be fixed, even when the rear wheels are sticking out over the container end.
the only reason why the rear wheels would be sticking out behind the container is because in North America, we have 53 ft containers, and a more standard 40 ft/2 TEU was loaded onto the trailer designed to accommodate the 53 ft containers.
I expect the devs to make the heavy dually tires separate like they are on the D-Series with the remaster, it wouldn't really make sense for them not to.
We have them as well, but this is not what I meant. 20 ft containers on a fixed chassis longer than 20 ft, so something sticks out, but no Attachment points on the part sticking out so you can't fit a 40 ft container. But this is off topic anyway, we clearly have a sliding one here.
This type of mechanism shown in the teaser could also be used for a lowboy style trailer, such as this Goldhofer I expect that if we get new trailers, they will be branded as Randolph
One possibility for this trailer I haven't seen mentioned yet is a sliding B-double arrangement, typically found on grain trailers in australia. the trailers here are also typically configured with 3 axles like the teaser. It's maybe a bit far-fetched, but modified trucks like the T-series are popular in Australia, and B25Mitch has done a multiple "practise" map mods based around brisbane, and it's been almost a year since johnson valley was released, which would be enough time to finish another map if it was being developed in parallel. could 0.31 also be partially australian themed update?
I doubt the Australian update theme (it would be cool though), but that trailer configuration does line up with what was shown in the teaser
In fact, I think the sliding b-doubles and "telescoping" container trailers use the same mechanism, so it would make sense if the devs did decide to add the sliding b-double. One thing id like to see is the addition of dolleys that go under the front of trailers so we can set up different types of trains like this Idk if its actually called a dolley i just call it that
I'd be down for an Australian themed update! I'm imagining an AUDM RHD Bastion Ute right now ...
An Aussie update would be amazing, especially if we got an Ford Falcon or a Holden. This could also include a dedicated burnout car
An Australian-themed map would be ace but wouldn't it also be coupled with an Australian car for the impact to be even larger? Think about it!
The duallies on the truck are already separate before remaster. On trailers though, the reason they are like this is optimization. 2x the amount of tires of this size and density Jbeam wise + the "powertrain" required to make them work as duallies can really make a significant difference. While there are many advantages of separating them, the performance disadvantage outweighs them. Trust me there was a lot of discussion about this, it was not an easy decision.
Perhaps we are a bit too overexcited about the Australian content, which is definitely not happening. As we are coming to the end of the year, and therefore, the final release of this year (at least, expect to), it will likely including T-series remaster and new addition or an improvement to the current roster. Alongside the potential remaster, it could be expected that a teased significant update to the career mode related to a path of "delivery", could be released together, as this career path potentially uses missions that are based on the upcoming content to T-series and trailers. Regarding the trailer, it perhaps could be not only a typical container trailer, which could provide a few configurations of differently sized containers, but also an extendable flatbed trailer (if not, such possibility could occur in the future) - potentially an improvement to the current flatbed trailer, which could allow the players to fit and deliver items or/and vehicles that were (or are) too long.
they should post in about 30 mins or less, get yeah sorry, it seems like they are posting teasers between 19:00 and 20:00, they have changed their schedules
