I'd still consider it a light remaster as the cars were majorly revised. I just don't think 0.32 will be only parts or patches, especially not exclusively for the T-Series which was just updated. Something like that would probably be a sub-update/hotfix.
0.7, 0.10, 0.11, 0.13, 0.14 didn’t include any new vehicles or remasters, but they all added other content. It is unlikely we won’t get a new vehicle or remaster. It’s possible we could get a remaster part 2 for the T-Series like they did with the D-Series.
Those updates were all still in the experimental phase of Beam though, based on current patterns we should be getting a refresh at the very least, as you said. I could see them giving us a wave two as well. We haven't gotten a map in a little bit either. And considering the frequency that they've been building WCUSA at, it's a matter of time before it gets ambient lighting and sorts. There are mods that feature this, so it's definitely possible. It feels weird to drive there at night since there's minimal lighting for an urban area
from my experience, night lightning can make the map much more demanding, especially if the lights use shadows (or higher quality shadow, 512pix or more). Utah i think is the only one, or one of few that has lights, but it doesnt have that many. I havent done any proper testing so i dont know the exact %. Quick test on my map , on daytime 76ish fps, nightime drops it to 46fps, with 1033 light objects (most lights have 256 or 512pix shadows, ~400 dont have any shadows)
Odd. The Swedish map the recently released has the same thing and much more of it, but it runs nicely for me
On the subject of West Coast and its speculative map expansion, I want to think of the style of small town that could be added outside of the city. Would it be just a suburb of Belasco or would it be in the Night and day sudden contrast sleepy, nearly forgotten route 66 type of town, but I think if they were going to do a route 66 style map expansion it undoubtedly would include a Burnside remaster and maybe another classic car addition (like for instance and I'm just spit-balling here, a Gavril A-series(Ford model t/a, Dodge model 30))or just for giggles a lore friendly pinto/pacer/omni.
I sure hope so. as much as i LOVE 2023 mazda 3. I love the pre 1990 cars, Well to the point pre 1987 for aussie cars and pre 1980 for US. I would love a massive full size 70s IRON bumper bigger then moonhawk, With like a 455 V8, Or any pre 1980 car beam needs more IMO. The last old car we got in the bluebuck i think witch i use lot and lots. And that the barstow. I think a Burnside remaster would be great, I love 1950s cars and i want to love it ( The Burnside ) BUT with the lack of rusty skins and the fact the seats change color if you like it or not is a put of. as well as pillerless and pillared coupe's does not help to as much as i love 4 doors. As well as a terrible BUT fun FLAT HEAD i6. With that being said for a new car i would love a 1930s all steel classic with flat head 4/6/8 ( or ifs its like caddy or Lincoln a V12/16 A first for Beamng ) engines. and 2/4 doors. As well as if they can add non synchromesh Transmissions and choke. With backward open doors. WHILE i would use the stock configs ( more so rusty stock ) Just think of all the modding hot rodding could be done, Chop chop. Gavril 4.5/5.5 engines and/or Bastion V8s. Maybe lots of things you could do. Next its possible for a JDM update. While am into classics from Aussie or US. I love some JDM Hence my IRL mazda 3 sedan i just picked up. maybe something to do with sunburst or 200BX? IF we get a new car from Japan. I would love a Old 60s/70s Sedan or coupe from japan with fender mirrors. I guess a miramar remake could do that. Bigger Bodys for the inline 6 and smaller for the i4 engines. and both long and short front could come in Sedan/wagon/coupe/ute ( pick-up ) Kinda like Holden torana That had small front from the 4 and bigger front for the 6. OR maybe a 4 door newer Covet. BUT i think the vivace covers that even if its not a car from Japan ( wasn't the vivace gonna be a japan car? ) next is German. While i love German cars, I think we have most of those covered with the ETKs maybe a Euro truck. BUT i do not know if it will be a ETK? I-series is dated BUT ok for now. I think British sport car like old MG would be fun. Only beamngs version and desigen, Even if am not into 2 seaters ( am boring i know ) Aussie update? Well easy make a RHD Bastion for all bodys and add sedan, Same for the Barstow and Bluebuck and moonhawk. Also caravan's and RV's are possible. While there is 0 word on this. The fact the Trucks got more love does open it up? BUT i dunno./ So sorry for spelling mistakes i know there is lots. LOL
Honestly, the caravan door is the only prop/vehicle in BeamNG that does not have a blue/green thing to open the door like the rest of the vehicles do. This is the Enclosed Cargo Trailer. See how the blue thing opens the door on this prop? The Travel Trailer does not have that. You can't even change the colors on it. It may not be in the near-future, but I feel like the devs will have no other option but to update it eventually just to catch it up with the rest of the game. That's just my take. I'd love to hear feedback.
I agree 100%, It came out 2016 the caravan with the Legran i think if i remember right , For its time it was awseome still is now. BUT some TLC on it wil lbe awesome
We need a prewar update. The 90s-30s are such an important and unique period in automotive history, and to me are the best looking and most interesting decades. Imagine a prewar version of East Coast USA as a semi-new map. Imagine having an early 20s Essex, late 20s Studebaker or Chrysler, a Stanley Steamer, an Oldsmobile Curved Dash, REO trucks, etc. Although the Model T and Model A are iconic to the 20s, I don't think it should be included because it was an oddity. The model T was very outdated even when it came out, in 1913 the Chevrolet came out and it was so much better for the same price. This continued till the 30s at least. There was also Essex, Star, Willys Knight, and more that were much better cars than the Model T and Model A for the same prices. I would also argue that the Oldsmobile Curved Dash is the first mass produced car, not the Model T. It is disingenuous to use prewar Ford cars to represent the period.
not to mention the technology of the time and its ingame representation, like updraft carburettors, flathead engines, planetary gearboxes and hand throttles
