Not sure if anyone has noticed this, but the shape of the teaser car looks suspiciously similar to the WIP Procyon Avior. This could slot in below the Avior. And in the CCF remaster lore it says: “The Hirochi CCF is a small roadster…in order to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of a small sports car, their first.” But the car does look like it’s from the 90s, and it doesn’t look like a small sports car. And even if it was, the sports car would be made in the 70s I highly doubt the devs would follow mod lore, but just wanted to throw it out there.
I want the Miramar to receive a 2.0 I6 engine so baaad! There's big potential here! --- Post updated --- Exactly, it's a JTC car! --- Post updated --- Exactly, the ATTESA-ETS and the Super-HICAS systems were major breakthroughs in technology, so it would be interesting to see them in BeamNG. Right now, we only have the mechanical AWS of the '88 Pessima and, while it does turn the rear wheels to both same and different directions, it is purely based on steering degree turning and it cannot be combined with RWD or AWD.
I don't think the that car is the only creation on the new update, probably we will be have some implementation on Vulkan, VR and career mod. Another thing they will add is probably dynamics mirrors in all or some cars
I've noticed that the car shown in the teaser has a similar shape to a Rover 825 Coupe, might be a shot in the dark but maybe it's European?
48 hours later and I still see mostly Holden in the teaser, and want it to be a Japanese grand tourer, but I think the overall consensus of this being a notchback 200BX with static headlights makes by far the most sense. So may as well discuss what we could see.. Overall it would make sense for the team to lean into the wider S13 platform, hopefully simplified compared to the confounded real life car. It would make sense to see JDM and USDM configs, similar to how the Bolide has EUDM and USDM configs. I would prefer to see the static vs popup headlights split like that as a reference to the real life situation, but the team could go with a facelift route here instead (or have it tied to the body styles). Then there's the body styles. We already have the fastback and the teaser shows a notchback. Historically a rare convertible option would make sense, but that would be unprecedented in several ways (The only convertibles we have are the Hopper and targa top Civetta's; and we have a few cars with 2 body styles but none with 3). As some have already speculated, we may see the current fastback coupe replaced with a hatchback. On a similar note, model years... The current 4 year model year spread is fine, though it should be bumped back a little if the team wanted to give it a facelift. Generally I don't like suggesting anything too weird with model years since it can get confusing fast, but one fact I love about the S13 is that after the USDM model was superseded it was updated and continued to be sold in Japan basically until the S15. I think that would be a great quirk to translate to in game, perhaps making it a rare and special factory config. For engine options we should see the engine options borrowing from the existing contemporary Ibishu's to some extent. If the team does give it a facelift then we could see early/late versions of the engine like some other facelifts in game have. There has been some talk here of dropping a factory 6 cylinder in it, as Ibishu already has contemporary options. Personally I'd like to see the factory options kept as a more entry level approachable sports car and a factory 6 would bump it up a class, but I guess the team could go that way if they wanted to. Still, a turbo 4 should be plenty for a top spec factory trim while also being a more reasonable weight. As far as swaps though, I hope to see a good variety of less appropriate powerplants as people swap all sorts of things into the IRL S platform cars. A garage built tube front end would make things easier here. The Gavril V8 is the obvious choice as it's the one Gabe originally intended to swap in it and can be fitted without sawzalling everything forward of the firewall like the Bruckell V8 would require. As I said the other day, there is at least one Hellcat S14 swap that looks like monumental fun though... Swapping in other Japanese 4/6 cylinder engines or a Euro 6 would also make sense to see. As far as other technology, something also already mentioned by other users here is RWS. Currently there's a few cars in game that could justify it yet the 1988 Pessima remains the only car to have it, even as we approach 10 years after the Pessima got in game. That's a bummer and hopefully rectified soon. Trim levels: I imagine this will end up being a hybrid of the current trim levels and the Covet's structure. A typical progression from boring base models up to a lively but still affordable turbo sports car, with USDM and JDM market variations for most options, and a few special editions thrown in. I'm not sure what will happen with the police config though.... While there are ways to justify its existence; it still doesn't make that much sense. Updating it with a police interior would be a lot of work for a questionable configuration, and it's not entirely unprecedented for the team to remove skins during remasters (refer to most of the T-Series pre-remaster skins). Aftermarket: The 200BX already has an aftermarket kit and some accessories, and the introduction of the static headlights introduces a probable front end swap. That's already as much or more aftermarket bodywork than most cars in game, but as someone who grew up with games like NFS Underground and NFS Carbon I'm always going to ask for more than that. We are talking about the tuner culture's poster car after all. I've been saying for a few years now that the smaller brands in game need more attention and identity, and the 200BX offers some opportunity here. Nomi box fenders like the Pessima's widebody would be awesome for the notchback, and a Turbo Rabbit reference to Rocket Bunny's S14 Mopar inspired kit would be great. Motorsport: Unquestionably the top choice here is a full on drift superbuild, with partial caged frames and a massively overpowered American V8. An approachable garage built drift car and maybe even a low spec as a performance driving school config all deserve their place too. The current track config is pleasant and I'd be fine with just seeing that one updated to current standards. Time attack builds are also common for the S13, and we already have the venerable Nomi hill climb kit seen on many cars in game. The older hill climb cars are some of my favorite track configs in game and it was disappointing that we went so many years without seeing one, though they have returned on the Scintilla and Wendover at least. Personally I'd love to see a high HP turbo 4/6 cylinder swap to contrast with the aforementioned American V8 swap. Seeing two completely different routes for a high HP swap would be relatively unique in game and offer the player two very different routes for the same end goal. Drag racing: While I'll probably still be asking the team to give some attention to drag racing gameplay and configs for awhile, we could at least see some content thrown to the 200BX here. I don't see anything major coming in the remaster since the existing drag config fits fine by current game standards, but hopefully someday in the future we see proper realistic drag racing classes with cars build for them. I'd love to see a 200BX built to promod spec Speed run configs: While we have some top speed focused configs in game, we don't have any builds that would be at home in the salt flats of Johnson Valley (Still hoping that area gets improved for actual gameplay use...). I didn't expect to be suggesting a salt flats racer for the 200BX remaster, but Googling the Nissan S platform does show some surprising representation in this discipline. Off road spec: yes yes we've been getting a lot of off road content, but quick and dirty off road builds like the Sunburst and Bastion both have are a lot of fun and more or less parts bin configs. Throw a light bar and a small lift with some existing parts and we'd have all we need. Or at least I thought that's all we need until I did some googling and saw an off road kart built by a shop in Pennsylvania that looks more like the sawzall Scintilla than your typical S13 build... I'm not saying we need a baby sawzall Scintilla. But I am saying I want one... Rally: While desert racing and the like has gotten a lot of attention lately, rally racing is simultaneously one of the best motorsports in Beam and hasn't gotten a ton of attention from the devs. While S13 rally builds aren't entirely unheard of, S12 rally cars were a genuine thing and plenty of other Japanese sports cars of the era had their hand in rallying. It doesn't take too much branching out to find reasonable inspiration for a rally config High spec track cars: The S12/S13 and some of the higher spec contemporary performance cars all had a lot of history here. Currently the Bolide is the only track car superbuild, but there's plenty of inspiration for a 200BX in the same vein. Of course this plus the notchback body style and a drift superbuild would be a massive update, while the spring update is usually pretty small. Maybe in the future... Banger racing: Another surprise from my quick Google research today, S-platform cars and other desirable contemporary Japanese sports cars do show up in banger races on occasion. Combined with the fact that we finally have been seeing some realistic derby/banger cars in the last year or so and we actually probably will be seeing one of these. Economy: In real life pretty much every desirable Japanese car from the era has become difficult to find clean examples of as all of them have been chopped up into drift builds or were some 17 year old's first car that he put into a curb while failing to impress onlookers. Finding clean examples of anything of the sort can be rough and I hope to see that mirrored in Beam to some extent. Of course this is currently one of the starter cars and for game balance finding a clean example shouldn't be crazy difficult, but seeing a slew of beaters and former/half build project cars on the career mode markets would make sense. Imagine picking up a wrecked drift build off of Beamslist to pick the engine out and drop it into your touge Barstow.
Normally they don't do remaster teasers showing the silhouette of the car, they do with new cars, like the K-Series,.Vivace, and Wendover. Just my opinion
Perhaps they're introducing a new brand (i.e. an "Acura" or "Lexus" under Ibishu?) --- Post updated --- Could very well be, especially considering how obscure the brand currently is --- Post updated --- I'm also getting some Silvia vibes from the front end
I'm fine with it being a 200bx remaster, and I'll also be pretty happy if it's something like a "300bx" as in, the bigger brother of the 200bx... Kind of like the LeGran-Wendover relationship, where the release of the new car coincides with the remaster of the existing one. If it's just an unrelated Japanese sports car, I'll be a bit disappointed, not gon lie. For me, the dream would be a European grand tourer, with a base 3 ish liter I6 and a manual box, and more powerful version either with turbos, or more cylinder (maybe even 12...)
tbh jdm's are extremely over hyped with some of the car community. i'd rather get another american car from the 80's.
