Well, I can see the update getting postponed, as the devs would need to work their tails off to get this done on time...
It doesn't take a month to make a vehicle, especially one that needs to be completely modeled from scratch, as well as having components never used before. He also asked for a map and video, so I guarantee it won't be in the next update. If anything, they'll release this one quicker so they can get to work on the excavator quicker.
So, who knows... it may be dev both at a time, postponed, or released early.... only time will tell, and I don't think it wants to.
So we don't know... If the deadline is tight, then they may put it as first priority, giving us a rushed update or a extremely long postponement. I have a bad feeling. This may possibly be the start of BeamNG.Corporation.
Really guys? Do you think that devs would make a crappy/rushed update or release it later becouse one guy offered up to 3k$ for a hard work for more than month for 2-3 peoples? Or to waste years of reputation, fanbase and years of hard work for just that small thing. It's just a money they need to gain to make BeamNG.drive. Guys be serious, use your brains because reading posts like this really hurts... Maybe they also want to make excavator for game (for carrier mode?) so it would be convinient to get money and work on something they would work anyway? Heavy machinery in BeamNG would be awesome.
Ok, so we might get a excavator. TDev has possibly confirmed it. On a thread about a mod that is about to The almighty Nadeox has spoken!
We are working on the game, which is our priority. Anything else will not affect the game's development, so it's nothing you need to start overthinking/worrying about. srsly guise
Correct me if I'm wrong, but even in ROR, Gavril didn't produce any heavy equipment. In fact, I think that the T-series is the closest thing to heavy equipment in either game. It's highly unlikely that an official excavator will carry Gavril branding. With that said, Ford's (long-closed) agricultural division did produce some construction equipment, including an excavator at one point, so it's not entirely out of the realm of possibilities:
More like underthinking it. No. A dev team that has up to 100 people working on one project from all around the world is gonna halt their work, ditch their schedules, yearly plans, any ideas and general development plans for a guy that offered 3k dollars. Since they sold only ~500k copies, you can imagine how much 3k dollars means to them. They have no options but to destroy their plans and focus all their attention on this charity. I don't imagine the update coming till autumn. That excavator is going to save the game. P.S. Just to make sure, since after reading this forum I get the idea that this might not be entirely clear to some people, my post was sarcastic. I have no idea the amount of mental strength it requires to be a good community manager. Kudos to you, Nadeox1.
