I'd imagine making the soft, quick expanding, deflating and thin material of an airbag would be hell. On that topic, maybe it could also make tyre deformation and damage better by proxy?
tdev and stenyak explained that in the thread. It's work that makes the devs' lives easier - deleting useless code for example. We probably won't be able to see much change as users, but it'll still be better.
The devblog for 0.32 listed what's coming in part 3, and these trucks are so versetile that the team could easily keep going for another several content updates for it if they really wanted to
"Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties, some of the planned features were not included in the current release. This means that you have more to look forward to in future updates, including a V8 engine, additional frame options, and more axle configurations." Yes. My bad! I always jump immediately into patch notes, heh. Technical stuff is very nice content. Smaller files, performance.. And fixing the issue where some people don't have grass in BeanMG for 2 years..
park it in WCUSA. In general could be cool to see military variants of the T-Series or another truck entirely. --- Post updated --- lol what even is this for? https://www.beamng.com/threads/development-media.24313/page-8#post-1737730
The shift pattern shown in today's Development Media news is very weird but not entirely unknown. Apart from having the classic turns of an old-school automatic transmission, it also seems to be featuring the J-Gate of the late-80s to mid-00s Jaguars. The J-Gate gives the driver the ability to shift the automatic transmission like a sequential through all its gears.
I'd say the shifter gate in the image is just a mockup for stress-testing the animation system, but it does make me wonder how hard it would be to implement the infamous Spicer 20-speed as a mod:
