I don't think it would make sense for SSRB to become a vanilla map, those are somewhat realistic environments (ok except maybe Gridmap) so i think a fictional highway in the middle of the ocean would look out of place. I just don't see why the map couldn't keep existing as a mod
Excuse me but didn't I post a long reply (to a post that has been deleted i think) thing about tractors and how it couldn't be added to beam.ng well? Did it get deleted without someone telling me? If the moderators are trying to mess with me... its working.
Here are some cars and maps I would like to see in the future: Cars: an Australian sedan/wagon/ute based on the Ford Falcon and Holden Commodore. a communist Russian car based on Lada or any other brand Maps: an Australian map based on NSW, Victoria and Queensland an Asian map based on Japan, Korea and China an African map based on Saharan and sub-Saharan Africa and a Latin American map based on Chile, Argentina, and Brazil
Dude, you are not the main character. The moderators just deleted all of that conversation due to the fighting, and your message was caught in that deletion. It's not that deep. --- Post updated --- Nah, it should be ballas v vagos
I think the reason you feel this way is because the devs tend to do this in order to flesh out a particular area of the automotive community. Rather than do this progressively over a longer period of time it was all done over the span of a couple themed updates (release of Johnson Valley, Gambler 500 crossover, etc). I expect once the underlying features arrive in support of more serious circuit racing, we will see updates a lot more focused on that theme for a period of time likely spanning a couple updates. That said, I do understand where you are coming from, it did get quite exhausting but we should be glad that its now a niche that is fully represented in Beam through official vehicles and maps which greatly support the addition for more similar content via mods. It leaves more space for the devs to move onto a new idea or "niche" in this case. I can't imagine they would feel like doing offroad stuff forever either.
heyyall im back lol can i get a very brief summary of the past two weeks and what is going on with that shifter gate?
The biggest news is that on the 27th, the devs announced that version 0.33 will be delayed indefinitely. When asked for clarification, the devs stated that they are working on extensive code cleanup, mostly removing unnecessary lua code and cleaning out the last of the Torquescript files. The code changes aren't themselves tied to any upcoming features, and won't create measurable improvements in performance. But they will smooth out and speed up future game development, one of those 'not exciting, but needs doing' kinda things. They also started an AMA in the same thread, but there are only a few developer responses from what I've seen. The shifter that appeared on development screenshots seems to be a stress test for the gear shifter animation system, rather than for any real content. There was briefly discussion about a vaguely similar, labyrinthine shifter design that seems to have existed in the 1970's, but evidence that this was real seems to be scant and it may have just been an enduring, well-circulated joke. There were also some... heated discussions following this convo about potential agricultural vehicles, or whether future offroad content would be in poor taste. Most of the latter convo has been deleted, probably for the best.
Not in real life, right…? Right?? (It would be hard to pop tractor tires anyways, I like my current tires, and they’re expensive, so please don’t. )
