Update Speculation thread

Either QA staff is on vacation, or the update is very close. Possibly today.

 

It is most likely today. This is BeamNG's fourth Birthday also. I am very hyped.

 

Hate to be the negative one again but if it comes today(which I doubt) it will likely have the trailer nadeox showed off and some fixes but not a whole lot more.

 

You're not being negative, just unrealistic. Do you honestly believe that after over 3 months all they're gonna do is give the community a trailer and some fixes? Why on earth would they do that? Especially when they said multiple times that the update will contain some exciting stuff.

 

I do really hope that we'll get some kind of surprise today because of anniversary of this amazing game - it might be just simple configurations for few cars that add new parts, or it can be a major release with large variety of content - we yet to see that.

However, I am also in doubt, because release dates always stress out developers and modders alike, because people will start becoming angry and constantly bring up that update had to be released that day. As a modder for other game, I do understand why small game companies shouldn't give release dates days, and totally respect them doing so - even if it is anniversary of the game/company, we cannot expect them to release it today.

Who even said that there would be an update today ?

I think it´s unlikely because the dev team dosent work with timelines. They release updates when they fell like it it ready and bug-free enough for people to enjoy it. It is not the greatest way of doing it, but it works better than most other dev teams *cough* CMS 2018 *cough*

It would be smth if they would release some bigger infos on the upcoming update .. like a new vehicle..but as I said above. it´s unlikely as well

 

When do updates usually release for you guys (time)?

On update days, it usually comes down around 8-9AM HST (Hawaii Standard Time).

It says today on steam but it says July 18 on the website....

 

TBH All i want in the update is some more configs for the new pessima and the 200bx

 

Don't get too hyped about that. The Development Sneak Peek was revealed on July 18.

Also, I was just considering something: if WCA doesn't get released in 0.10, then maybe an update of the other maps is what they are planning instead? After all, we already have evidence that the devs intend on updating ECA a little, but those road signs shown in the WCA progress shots could be used for places like Utah or JRI.

 

It was just a bug fix though.
