ofc we don't need 100% realistic fluid simulation, that would just make it completely unplayable. --- Post updated --- iirc Scintilla was outsourced but I can't remember who said it
If no one can tell the difference between those oursourced and those done in house I don't see the problem... That's just how businesses work, things go to contractors when it makes sense to do so.
Correction: Part of the 3D modelling process is outsourced in case of some models. More commonly it's things like trailers and upfits, remastering/refreshing an old model or adding a new body style, etc. Sometimes whole new cars yes, but still it's maybe around half of the vehicle creation process if not less, just the 3D model and main textures, both of which usually get tweaked afterwards. Everything else, like the entrie physical skeleton, custom code for vehicle specific systems with all the hours of testing and tweaking, skins, sounds, all QA, missions and scenarios featuring the vehicle, this is all made in house. So it's a bit misleading imo to just say "the vehicles are outsourced", more accurate would be "partially outsourced" or you can also say that the art is outsourced. And yes there are differences in model quality at times, but in my opinion they are small compared to the gradual improvement in the quality of our new vs old content overall, that's why remasters are a thing.
I think I remember hearing from somewhere that parts of the Covet model were outsourced. Although, considering it is one of my favorite (non-modded) vehicles, I do not have a problem with it.
More or less the Current format. Just a Message saying I.E Diff is leaking oil. Diff is over heating ( with maybe smoke ) Then it stops working. Same with transmission. TO simulate the fluid itself yes will cause low end Pcs to melt sadly. PS i love you're videos
I’m not sure. Since update 0.33 is delayed, I doubt we’re gonna get a teaser this week, maybe next week
It may be that developers post teaser this week, then they will be silent for a whole month in August, and two teasers will be released before the update in September.
Is that why we have many parts overlapping after the remaster? For example ETK-K, things like the safety cage growing through the maps or side windows in a broken state with textures hanging in the air, "Covet" also has new parts under the hood that go through other parts, the list of these examples is full in the branch "Official Content", this raises another question: should we pay attention to such visual errors and point them out in the expectation that they will be fixed sooner or later, or the developers consider them insignificant and prefer not to notice?
I think teasers will start maybe if we skip this update. And Aug may be teaser time Or as said before teaser then like 3 weeks nothing Then some more Then bamm update BUT what if ( as Tdev said update may be even smaller then normal ) JUST be T-series content ( witch will be very sweet IMHO ) Again beamng T-series update/remake got me into semi trucks so that is cool
These should be fixed eventually, generally art issues like this are low priority to fix unless there are lots of them on the car or they are very noticable
I just hope there is an update (I have absolutely no brain capacity right now and that’s the only thing I could think of)
In other words... Ignore them. --- Post updated --- Iv'e stopped trying to predict them and just let myself be suprised when one comes along.
So the devs went to Devcom/Gamescom looking for partnerships? All the listed areas here are really good news: UGC seems to stand for User Generated Content (mods or in-game generated content like the liveries?), Merchandising, Art team augmentation, Porting/Cross platform, Branding... That's ambitious, I hope we get a follow up at some point.
Just wish they’d let more graphic designers in, the stuff I’ve seen generated by random blokes in their bedroom at a friday evening is beyond mind blowing, and as always I’m stoked to see new opportunities arise
UGC Platform Solutions (maintenance, distribution, monetization) Looks like they are considering implementing paid mods natively instead of requiring third-party platforms. That's nice. An embedded solution is always better than requiring some extra steps. (please don't start another paid mods argument)
