Update Speculation thread

Dude, I can run like 7+ (WITH TRAFFIC VARIETY POOLING!!!) on my 16 GB RAM setup.

 

What GPU do you have? Beam seems to really dislike ATI Radeon cards. I got only a slight performance boost from my GTX 1060. It could be because my motherboard/CPU only supports PCIe 3.0. I am definitely looking into upgrading to AM5.

Wow. I never thought I'd get my ass handed to me by an Rx 570 lol.

 

I was gonna say, there 100% have been updates where the creator_program was only 1-3 days ahead of public release. Certainly not weeks.

 

And the 4GB Version no less!

I do have a decently strong CPU (apparently) though, so that might help with my traffic handling.

 

I don't know what setup i have but having more than 4 cars on traffic make my game lag (a bit, but still)

 

I think for last few updates it was around 1-3 weeks, since the initial creator_program got updated. But it gets updated a couple of times, so it might be couple days before, but it was initially weeks before. I could be wrong tho as i am going off of memory.

Checked using steamdb.
For 0.32, creator_program was updated on 8th of april and 11th, public update was on 16th. (8 days)
For 0.31 , it was updated on 8th december and 11th december, public update was on 14th (6 days)
For 0.30 it was updated 18th and 19th of september and public updated dropped 20th of september. (2 days)
So around 1 week.

 

Who tf still uses an ATI card?

 

@AgentMooshroom5 is a new dev ? There's a lot of new devs who are working at beam

Also, he made a snow plow mod for the T-series. Maybe we will have an official one too? (Even though we don't have a snowy map yet)

ATI Radeon? ATI hasn't been around since the mid to late 2000s.. they got bought out by AMD

 

As long as your GPU supports PCIe 3.0 x16 the performance difference is bugger all

 

PCIe 4.0 x4...
It's beyond me why AMD went for PCIe 4 X4 rather than PCIe 3.0 X16
