I wonder how many configs the new Bruckell is going to have, since prewar cars had a massive variety of body styles and trims
Weren't they already included in previous game versions? I mean, the simplified traffic versions of those three cars were fine as is, and there were no major issues with them if I recall correctly. Still, I am excited to hear that we're getting a 1930s Bruckell with a variety of body styles. I hope to see a hot rod config within the dozens, if not hundreds of configs that'll come with it! And on that note, I hope to see some rally related content in the next update.
Not that it's likely to be in this update, but it would be worth a mention that the automation devs have stated they're "rewriting BeamNG's Combustion Engine code" to bring compatibility for their twinchargers and compund turbochargers:
I would hope quite a few as newer additions have been a bit sparse --- Post updated --- Is that a truck or something on the other side, it looks off
im pretty sure its a truck version behind it and OOH i love classic trucks and i hope there's a panel van because idk why but i love the look of panel vans of that era
I know people are talking about the multiple body-styles, but doesn't the Bluebuck technically have 4? Or is it just 2? There's a 2/4 door sedan and 2/4 hardtop sedan
They were temporarily removed as we had no time to optimize them as much as the others, which would mean inconsistent performance in traffic if they were present.
Yes, the Bluebuck has two/four body styles, depending on how you count it - but none of those change the silhouette of the vehicle. There's not nearly as much of a difference between the body styles (in terms of appearance) as there is between the sedan and wagon versions of the 800 Series and LeGran, the BX-Series liftback/coupe, or even the coupe/targa versions of the Scintilla/Bolide. (Or the Burnside lead sled body, if we're including custom chop-shop styles.) The '30s Bruckell, on the other hand, has at least a five-window coupe, a four-door sedan, and a pickup - three body styles with vastly different silhouettes. That's a pretty big deal, considering that seven years ago, Gabe was saying that adding more body styles for passenger vehicles (as opposed to trucks) was not really a priority, and we've only had a maximum of two silhouette-changing body styles for each passenger vehicle. Hopefully, there's even more body styles for it that we just haven't seen yet.
Maybe they will post a teaser on social media today (since it's Tuesday) and the update will be released later this week/next week.
It's certainly possible - we're well within the Holiday Update Zone (9th-21st), and we just had possibly the last teaser yesterday - we could have another 0.30 situation, where the update drops the day after the final teaser. I still think we're more likely to see the update on Wednesday-Thursday this week, though - but the devs have constantly proven me wrong whenever I've been a bit pessimistic about the holiday updates (releasing all five vehicles teased before 0.27 in one update instead of two, and releasing 0.31 on the 14th instead of the 19th, like I thought it would), so based on that track record, I wouldn't be surprised if the devs decide to do a hat trick on me and release it today - there's still plenty of time for it to drop.
Well, I guess it's most likely happening today, then. This happened last year, as well - thankfully, I wasn't in the middle of typing a post when it happened. I'm completely fine with this, though - completely happy to be wrong in these instances.
