Biggest issue currently with vulcan is that it uses a lot of vram. If you dont have a GPU with 6-8gb vram or more, you will have a subpar experience and lot of glitches. I doubt they would abandon Dx11 before fixing that isssue, as lot of people are running 4gb vram and less cards, where you would have to run medium or lower settings. Biggest benefit of vulcan over Dx11 currently is that vulcan handles drawcalls on multiple cores. Maps like italy and Wcusa have upwards of 7k drawcalls, thats where you will see lot of fps improvements if you are cpu limited. Drawcalls also increase a lot when spawning more vehicles (traffic). Another potential big benefit would be with city lights. Atleast in my map, enabling lights with shadows almost doubles the polycount and drawcalls, and if the map already has lot of drawcalls (wcusa and italy for example), that would absolutely destroy performance.
I don’t see all the hype around vulkan right now as for me it’s still very unstable and slow on the menus. I can’t figure out how the devs have switched to it cause it takes like 4x longer to load
With Vulkan, my game is running around 15-20 fps (40 fps with DirectX11) My spec is : - GTX 1080 - i7-6700K - 16 GB RAM
I think somebody got ahold of their account since they posted some pretty normal stuff before October 2018. Maybe it was their little brother that totally exists just trust me bro
I put it to 1, but it's the same framerate as I leave it to 2. I'm going to save some money so I can buy better components.
Just switch to the main branch (Direct X1 1ST). My 4GB RX570 can run the game great at medium setting with that refresh rate at 2 on the main branch.
Since you mentioned the walking mode character, shouldn't it also have an Odometer/Trip Computer UI App too? Say, a Walk-o-meter, measuring both distance and steps plus counting in general on the background stats, just like with the vehicles? I mean, quite a few of us enjoy walking around the maps every now and then (especially in WCUSA, with its wealth of waypoints), so it would be useful to see the distance we walk each time and/or how many steps it takes us to get to a certain place in a map on foot! --- Post updated --- A great long Interstate also needs a large truck stop station, certainly much larger than the Trilobite Service Station at WCUSA, behind the Quarry.
So am ULTRA hyped for the Sunburst remake/new car, its a car game after all, BUT i wonder if the builder maker ( witch i cant wait to make some buildings for the vanilla maps ) I wonder if i can make a sky scrapper and so on, ( sorry spelling sucks more then even normal sorry,. very tired ) BUT i hope there is a save/copy/past function, AS i plan to make EAST coast USA town into a mini New york city,
I stopped using Vulkan because recently in the middle of the game, the whole UI randomly started lagging so badly that when I pressed Esc to go into the veichle selector the menu UI showed up 15 SEC after i pressed the Esc key.
