I doubt they would remove dx11 if vulcan isnt fully stable. As vulcan biggest issue is vram, if you don't have 6gb or more vram you wont have good experience with vulcan, looking at steamcharts, that would be around 13% of total steam users. And looking around, i think probably 20-30% of beamng players (source: i made this number up).
Also i think Windows 7 can run vulcan games, so that would be jumping to conclusion, i dont see anywhere that would state that they would drop dx11, atleast not for now.

Well it’s the most logical option
-windows 7 isn’t supported with the latest version of vulkan. Even the earlier versions of vulkan.
-it’s the next jump in under the hood change, (directX9, directx10, 32 Bit, directX11.
-Nvidia windows 7 drivers are no longer updated and don’t work with the 40 series or newer
Can someone can point out something that windows 7 SP1 can not support that later versions do that would affect beamng other than Vulkan?

I finally checked my motherboard and figured out what it was. It's a MSI B550-A PRO (MS-7C56). Anyone know what GPU is compatible with that and an AMD Ryzen 5 5500 CPU?

Possibly. But they didn’t make a windows XP compatibility build, or a vista build

Maybe it's because too many people still use 7?

XP died pretty early in Beam development (was it even compatible?), Vista was more or less compatible with 7, but many many people stayed on 7 instead of updating to 8, 9, 10, or 11... So in conclusion, I see why they might want to make a separate EOL version for 7.

From my own testing, no. (June 2010 DirectX, last XP available version for DirectX. Tech Demo 2.0 and 3.0 didn't work, 2.0 having some weird errors popping up)
I might retry the experiment in an VM sometime soon to see if it really wasn't compatible or it was an user error

When DirectX 9 dropped for beamNG in may 2015 it was the last version of directx to work under windows XP, and by then, windows XP had still over 12% market share
Now, windows 7 has only 2.3% market share

I don't like the rear door handle, do you think they keep that? I've never seen a sedan with one of them

Lined up the current Sunburst and new car. Modeling looks so much better. Oil reservoirs on the shocks are a subtle detail I didn't see anyone mention. Also, does anyone know what this little UV join setup is usually used for?
