Given that NGRC dates back to the Covet, it seems to have come into effect immediately after the Beam equivalent of Group B (which the Covet MR Turbo was made for and the Group 4 Bolide could have been grandfathered into). The earlier NGRC2 cars have a very Group A feel to them, so an early NGRC1 car would probably be built to Group S spec.

i wonder if we're ever going to see the mk2 pessima get updated again, the remaster it got was REALLY lackluster. so much potential for that car :(

Wagons for both Pessima generations would be grand.

I agree with the 1st gen Pessima but do we need wagons for every car?

I think the main attention in that update was for the textures and geometry which were practically ancient, and let's not forget it was a parallel update with the H-Series. Aside from the racing config's suspension there were no drivetrain additions. I do think it'll get more content at some point but not for a while.
I have lost count of how many Pessima coupe mods there have been over the years. I fully ate that stuff up every time, same with the RSV and the liftback.

I feel like that's kind of the point of the '96 Pessima - it's meant to be the lackluster alternative to the '88 Pessima. It is a bit of a shame that the '96 Pessima doesn't even get all-wheel-drive (the LeGran did in its remaster), because wow, is the basic chassis for it so good. I thought that most of the '96 Pessima 1.8 DX's handling advantage over its 1988 equivalent was due to the wider tyres (205/60 standards vs 185/70 standards). However, I stuck the '96 Pessima's wheels on the '88, and it still had lower average grip at 64 km/h on the Gridmap skidpad. (0.87g for the '96, 0.83g for the '88 on the '96's wheels. (0.81g for the stock '88, by the way.)) The '96 Pessima DX has almost the same g-force level as the '88 Pessima GTZ and ZX AWS (0.88g, 195/60 sports). Genuinely, I prefer driving the '96 Pessima over the '88.

I don't think we'll be getting AWD or AWS for it, though, as there's already plenty of FWD-based AWD vehicles in the game. Speaking of the rally trims, it's a bit odd that the '96 Pessima's rally trim didn't get updated to the new NGRC standards, like the '88's. EDIT: Turns out the '88 Pessima's updated rally config is not NGRC-compliant, so clearly, the NGRC's a recently-established organization.

    A) yes, yes we do
    B) the Pessima could get a 5 door hatch like the Mazda 626. Combined with AWD that would be a unique quirky car

AWD yes. But no, not everything needs a wagon. Leave that to the modders, not everything needs to be “qUiRkY”.

A '96 Pessima wagon would be super cool (and one is actually going to be coming out with KLJP)

Only thing really missing is a modern truck. Perhaps a mid size truck like a Tacoma and a ranger

I'm honestly kind of impressed as to how some people haven't gotten tired of American/USDM vehicles yet. I'd personally love for the next new vehicle to be something more at home in Europe or Asia, like a modern A/B-segment/subcompact hatch, a sleek 60s/70s grand tourer, or even a medium-duty truck along the lines of an Elf or Fuso Canter.

I think that it would be awesome to see Burnside and Bluebuck wagons as soon as they get remastered
