a stripped interior would require the devs to take the existing interior carpeting, reshape it so it looks as if it isnt a carpet, then retexture it to look like a stripped interior, its not an easy task, + then youd add a race dashboard which also takes time. and yeah doing that for all cars is prety time consuming
Man, yours are fully bespoke rigs. Ours still have the front of whatever truck they're based on (but armored, of course). (Loomis truck based on the International DuraStar)
Oh boy, the Pigeon is gonna have a really hard time! --- Post updated --- Tbh, I like your armored trucks more. Apart from looking better in my eyes, they also look beefier and better prepared for withstanding assaults than ours. Ours are based on regular van chassis, as you can tell by the small wheels, so they don't really look like they can withstand anything serious...
I wonder how hard it would be to put the armored box on a normal d-series, would be an interesting look for sure
I have seen armored bank trucks in the American movies and series and, judging by the characteristic semi steel wheels and tires, I've always thought they're based on Semis like the T-Series. I didn't know Medium-Duty trucks like the MD-Series ever existed until the MD got published. As for the scenarios, I'd like to see the armored truck in a classic crashing scenario where pursuers are no object in order for the hunted to get away!!
Yeah, bulletproofing probably won't make much of a difference in terms of driving experience (weight aside), or even necessarily in terms of durability. Think of it like the T-Series: Heavy? Yes. Powerful? Of course. And strong enough to hold itself all together, but not strictly durable. Sure, it'll push through a roadblock without breaking a sweat, but the weight it has behind it is a double-edged sword in an actual impact (especially with static geometry). Granted, this is just my intuition, and we won't know how it'll bend and break until we get it for ourselves, but I wouldn't expect it to be THAT much more invincible than the vehicles we have now. Nah, East Coast. I wanna RP as Jessica Fletcher responding to a hostage crisis in Cabot Cove
but it don't look to be that thick on the screenshot, that why i said that --- Post updated --- the armored MD will be only a bank truck or a military/police too?
If were getting a armored MD-series, think about what else can be put on to that frame. I'll share some ideas
There are armored vans like that in the US as well, but they’re not as common as the truck based types, and ours generally still look like the vehicles they are based on (usually ford transit/ford E-series or MB Sprinter) and are still easily recognizable as a transit, sprinter or whatever van, just armored. There used to be an armored truck company called Dunbar that had Dodge ram based trucks, a few years ago they were bought out by Brinks and some of their trucks continue service in brinks fleet
Not sure but maybe it's because armored trucks are more vulnerable to attacks or something and it's good to be able to see the sides?
