Or a sequential gearbox, as the shift times seem a bit to short I've tried it with manual and ABS and I've found out that no matter how would I shift with my G27 It would be still slower than in the video. Gearshift time is about the same as with DCT transmission, but the car is missing paddle shifters --- Post updated --- Your theory about increase in power might be right as I did a 2nd run with manual gearbox, ABS and boost increased to 20 psi. It does hit 120mph in the right spot, but I still think that those gearshifts are a bit odd for a manual transmission, as The Diamond would have to hit every gearshift perfectly, and with arcade gearbox mode with the same setup I was about 10MPH slower due to extreme gear shift times. Also, It looks like he is using a controller, so I would think that shifting with cluch would be quite hard (I don't really know as I don't have any Xbox controllers) --- Post updated --- My best guess is a new transmission since you can't hear the BOV between the gearshifts. During my tests with manual transmission I wasn't able to get a clean gearshift without activating the BOV. Sure, you can still shift while slightly on the throttle but then you can hear the engine rev higher for a split second during the gearshift
Maybe it’s a WIP straight-cut transmission code, although those are notorious for their whining sounds at high speeds (not present in the video).
Finally there is a discussion about that mysterious video, I thought I was alone in having no idea what it was showing
As I have said before, if it is straightcut sequential race/rally transmision I hope there's an earplug button.
I want to do that, but engine stress is not in game yet(100k rpm w/ 5000 horsepower test car proved that)
Oh..... well now I feel more dumb than usual... I was thinking that N2O was two parts oxygen one part nitrogen, and 33 percent oxygen seems like a lot more than the atmosphere has now that I'm starting to remember, long story short I just forgot something.
Hahaha! I was right! Race sequential gearbox i coming! Look at the newly posted video, You can see that the clutch pedal is moving only when setting off and not during the gearshifts
When looking at those "mysterious" videos, I noticed the removed radio system and loose cables. I know it's already in the game but I never saw it before. Nice touch! The rally sunburst doesn't seem to be faster than the in-game version. I managed to get from the "highway" spawnpoint to the edge of the bridge at the same time as in the video, and I'm far from a perfect driver.
that updated paint system seems very cool. so does the engine rocking back n forth. this update is looking good.
New development sneak peek, and oh....ooooohhh, I think I've just got so hyped. At the end of this sneak peek, after the second showing of the follow up to the mysterious video, are some rather strange things that I've never seen before. 1st WCA screenshot: I notice that there's four cars (a Moonhawk, a Barstow with the unused race skin, a Covet, and a 200BX), each stripped down at the front and rear, all equipped with rollcages, and all going two-wide into the first corner (with Mitch presumably driving the drifting Barstow). They also are in the middle of a race, judging by the checkpoint, so does that mean....does that mean we now have an AI that can actually race, as well as the option to race with as many AIs as we'd like to (or until our computers can't handle it)? N20 Purging: Wow...that's just absolutely beautiful. New Skin System: Hmmm...I hope that means that we might get UV maps for all the vehicles which don't have them, as people will find out a lot quicker that the T-Series, K-Series, and '96 Pessima can't be given skins at all. Engine and exhaust rocking: 0_0 Oh, my gosh....that's beautiful! Although...now I'm going to be looking more at the exhaust of these cars and driving hood-less to try and see this engine rocking.
It's down near the bottom of the development sneak peek, between the N20 afterfire videos and the engine rocking videos.
