I don’t want to get too off topic cause this isn’t the thread for it. But the scintilla handles really well with enough downforce and a tune. The power on that car is insane, especially stage 1,2+. 1200+ hp. That’s why I always run it AWD too
Thank you guys for the support! Eh, probably not as big as 0.27 was, unless BeamNG wasn't teasing all of the content that's included in 0.38..... The reason why BeamNG is actually a good game is because of the development team and playerbase. Let's talk about the dev team first. They listen to the community and put solid effort into this mod. They aren't like Roblox where they don't give a damn about the community and are completely out of touch. The player base has some annoying and not so good people are here and there, but the playerbase is ten times better than other games. I think the most nicest people are usually BeamNG players (some examples are McBeamer, LegThePeg, Musicman, pigeonperson, CrashHaven etc). I think that’s what makes BeamNG amazing and great and I hope to see the game rise to popularity for years to come. I approve this statement.
AS someone who does not like super cars IRL much ( give me a stock 1930s sedan ( or coupe ) or anything aussie mostly XF falcons and anything 1950s over all ( USA AUSSIE UK ECT ) I do think the scintilla handles really well as well. OT, I cant wait to crush the scintilla with the mine truck and other cars, maybe it can crush the T-series or least the MD-series, i wonder what car related stuff we will get. maybe some mine configs for the D-series MD-series T-series, and maybe the hopper, maybe some love for the hopper may be good not a remaster but something small to do with the mines
Those huge tires would be a good opportunity to add a Monster Truck config for the D or MD-Series but I think they would have teased that if that was the case.
Obviously 0.38 won't be as big as the update that added five new vehicles and a new map It probably will still be a big update though. The last few winter updates were pretty big for Beam though, at least in recent years (Nine in 2024, T-Series remake in 2023, Bastion and two whole remasters in 2021). Plus this is a new niche for the game that hasn't been done to death. *cough* shitboxes *cough* As much as I criticize the BeamNG community, it really is better than most. Next to no ragebait/trolling and any community uproar towards certain (mostly now banned) users is more of a "you reap what you sow" situation 9 times out of 10.
This thread is pretty chill (I would call it my BeamNG.home <3) but from what I've seen of the Discord its full of toxic peoples.
About the power, I agree that it has a lot of it. My point is that I compared the Scintilla and the Bolide with the exact same tires. The Bolide Basically is all about oversteer. If you know how to tame an oversteering car, you're fine. The Scintilla, is a clusterphoque (Family Guy reference). It will understeer, than will snap oversteer. Without At least 400 kg of downforce, it is horrible to control. Even though it is fast. A tuned Bolide can be Equally fast, needing less downforce, and being A LOT easier to control.
Yeah but that's more of a Discord problem than a BeamNG problem. Discord has more reach than a forum so the more casual users and trolls will go there, whereas with a forum you not only have some "unsung rules" of forums, you have a smaller regular userbase where everyone knows everyone. If the devs decided to remove usernames and profile pictures tomorrow we could probably still tell each other apart from typing style, opinions, and subgroup in-jokes. Or maybe I'm just overanalyzing this.
I guess it would make sense, I use Discord a lot but I'm not in any super-huge public communities like Beam I think would be (Flashpoint and Free Lives (Broforce devs) would be the biggest but I'm inactive on there at the moment). I'm not even in the BeamNG server technically, there is a Discord feature where you can just browse public servers without joining it. Sometime after a teaser I do go check lol, but the people there don't make me want to join ahah.
Reading this ive realized ive been on this forum for over 6 years. I'm bamboozled and befuddled. OT: I'm wondering if this is an attempt to add more popular content to try and give an olive branch to the crash compilation crowd, who probably make BeamNG a fair amount of money.
It is, and there's nothing wrong with that in my opinion! I remember being but a little iPad kid watching crash compilations that used the old Belaz mod, and now I've shifted to being 100% a car enthusiast. Plus the so-called "true car enthusiast" crowd is happy to have yet another niche filled.
OT: Wouldn't it be cool if the iRacing update and the BeamNG update dropped at the same time? (PLEASE DEVS PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE)
They’re adding cross cars as free content (if you don’t know what a cross car is, look it up, they’re awesome) as well as the Adelaide and Miami street circuits. Pretty cool update.
Interesting. got a lot of worse miniva- I mean crossovers, but they look cool af Do you know any Cross Car mods?
I doubt that that's the case, especially so close to release - all five of the vehicles for 0.27 were teased before the update. The only time that vehicle content hasn't been teased (at least, in Dev Screenshots) before release was the H-Series and '96 Pessima remasters in 0.24 (the main focus for the teasers for that period was the Bastion and remastered Bolide, released in 0.24.1). Also, there were no teasers for 0.23, 0.17.1, or 0.14. Also, 0.38 will likely have the shortest teaser -> release period of any major update, of just 19 days (if it releases tomorrow). I wonder if that's going to be a trend in the future. (For context, 0.36's teaser -> release period was 21 days (27 May -> 17 June 2025).) (There were three remasters in 0.24/0.24.1 - the '96 Pessima, H-Series, and Bolide.) Holiday updates have often been the largest updates for every year since they became a regular thing (0.5/0.5.1, December 2015) - which makes sense, considering how long content takes to add and how many new people holiday updates attract to the game. I reckon ~40% of all game sales since May 2015 have been from the holiday updates. I might be biased about that, since I'm one of those people who bought the game during a winter sale (26 December 2015), but with how much the average player count increases after holiday updates, it's probably not too far off. I've been on this forum for almost 10 years - a lot's changed in the time that I've been here, and yet also not very much. I'm not sure if the construction vehicles were developed specifically for the crash-compilation crowd - but 0.37's props could've been. I think it's more likely that the devs wanted to try out new types of vehicles that didn't require tyre thermals or aero improvements, and which could utilize the hydraulic systems developed for the T- and MD-Series. Regardless, it will be interesting to see how popular these vehicles are with the general public compared to the previous three holiday updates.
If I’m being honest, it’s going to be a hit unless the update is genuinely awful (which it won’t be). There’s probably going to be a small section of the community that’ll be pissed about getting “another utility update” but from what I’ve seen throughout my three years of being here the majority of the forum is just glad to see more unique vehicles.
