It was for me too, but when I launched the game in safe mode without mods, the problems were gone, so probably some mod is conflicting with the update. I didn't find out yet, which one it was for me, I disabled all of them.
RLS Career Overhaul Italy cause that. Other mods that modifies Italy map can do the same. Just wait for an updated version of those mods
Hmm... that makes me wonder how much a one-day rental of a skid loader costs in Bremen... failing that, a session at a heavy-equipment auction yard might prove fruitful.
Some of the team did actually go on a trip to play with a wheel loader and a dump truck, not one like in game, as it was an articulated one, but was close enough to clear up some doubts on how to deal with FFB on a vehicle with steering wheel and hydraulically operated steering. Amongs other things, and ofc getting to look at various machines in person and just get the feel for levels of rigidity and behavior when doing less conventional stuff is always useful
You got to play with a real, live ADT? I'm jealous. I love those things. They way the cab and bed sections move over rough terrain - it just reminds me of the head and body of a big, friendly dog. And there's not much that can stop them: ...they're just such a unique type of off-road vehicle. If the community feedback from the HT-55 proves positive enough, I'd love to see the dev team take on an ADT, as an intermediate step between the T-series and the HT-55. (And maybe introduce a new, heavy-equipment-focused manufacturer to the BeamNG world)
im glad to know that hirochi has a very straight forward naming scheme for their heavy vehicles I do wonder wht the 40 in wl-40 means
We probably will get passenger vehicles and/or more passenger vehicle remasters in the coming updates - the devs like to flip-flop between large trucks/offroaders/older cars (0.9-0.15, 0.28-0.38) and light trucks/passenger vehicles/modern cars (0.3.8.1-0.8, 0.16-0.26). (I'm counting 0.27 as its own separate era - we're likely never getting an update like that again for a long time.) As for what sort of modern vehicles we could get in 0.39-0.48(ish), I'm not sure. We've had two large(r) sedans/wagons (800/Bastion), two smaller sporty hatchbacks (SBR/FCV), and two high-end sports coupes (K-Series/Scintilla). Maybe a city car, a pickup truck/SUV, and a purpose-built race car? Those are very common suggestions and currently unfilled niches - I think the first two are more likely than the third one, though, at least until the tyre updates start. EDIT: Also, holy shit, we nearly broke the overall peak record today (31,804 players vs. 32,320 players), and it's not even the weekend or Christmas. Usually, we get 22,000-25,000 players during the week days at peak. That's a similar jump to 0.27 (~10,000 average weekday peak -> 18,441 on release day), and bests 0.31 and 0.34. Once again, I'm learning new things about the Beam community - y'all really like your mighty machines.
I wonder what came first, the Quarry or the Haul truck? Kind of a chicken and egg situation here, right?
the haul truck was only manufactured from the late 90s to the mid 2000s so i would assume that area of land has been quarried for longer than that
I was thinking of the Devs, like what idea came first? Add a Quarry to Italy, and then a truck or vice versa
Likely the quarry, since that was put on a preview of Italy in 2016 (except it was near Castelleto instead of south of Fastello): Although, I wouldn't be surprised if a haul truck was always in the plans - it just wasn't practical to add until now.
IIRC after Italy released TDev commented there was a bunch of oddball vehicle content related to the map that he wanted to add but they abandoned
Ooh, interesting - I wonder what all of that could have been, and if we're going to see any of it (in a new form) in the near future. Maybe the Stambecco and GM limo were part of this vehicle content pack? With all the farms everywhere, a tractor would've been very likely. I don't know if an airplane would've ever been on the list, though - that's probably too far out-of-scope for the devs.
