It quite often is the case that they do not approve the mods for few days and then comes a big mod dump. And mods aren't things that just happen. In most cases it takes at least a day to develop an upload-worthy mod.
Yes, one thing to look forward to is some internal changes in the brake physics that make it much easier to treshold brake. It also helps the ABS act much more smoothly and effectively. Should be a big help for those trying to put down consistent laps. It just doesn't make for much of a blog post.
I wonder if we will be getting a UI overhaul in the future. A while ago, I asked about dark theme and nadeox had something to say on themes: To me that sounds like they are planning on reworking the UI, making it more in line with what the main menu and garage are like.
One thing that I have noticed with current public version is that when entering to brake zone, I have to apply brake only part way, because initial brake pedal pressure seems to lock up brakes quite easily there, where as after that I can put lot more brakes on without locking up and keep it there almost until the end of braking zone. In rF2 and AC it is different, brake are slammed in full and then gradually eased off as speed decreases. I don't know where this difference comes from, it can well be difference in weight transfer, but it will be interesting to see how this aspect will be in future updates. Consistent laps sounds like that these updates you have made to brakes is changing that, so really looking forward of these improvements! ------- Guys, I think that Nadeox1 hinted about UI performance at some post, something that they had something in pipeline for UI. What I know is that with iGPU UI lags sometimes horribly, sometimes is better. With 1050Ti UI lags a little, but not bad. With 8800GTS UI is fast as lightning, but everything else lags real bad. I have understanding that UI would not lag, at least as bad in next version, but it is my understanding which can be quite off.
I think rFactor and Aseto have braking assistance like any other game. IRL you can lock up brakes in any car, no matter if it's F1, Porsche or Multipla. BeamNG don't have it yet so racing on keyboard is almost impossible and on gamepad you need be very careful. However in BeamNG it looks like every car (at least every original from devs) have brakes working like in regular car. You can easily lock up (personal experience) if you apply 50% braking force in around 80 km/h. Also in BeamNG we can't wear out brakes. Another situation from life. I had worn out brake pads and I couldn't brake normally because locking brakes were even more easier.
You can turn assists off, I'm using gamepad so that is bit better than keyboard. IRL you stump on brakes and ease off, that is at least with slicks and race brakes from my own experience. I'm not talking about street brakes and tires here, those require generally lot more finesse.
No offense, but this view is just giving too much deja vu feel from Dry Rock Island and Jungle Rock Island.......... from the street view picture it looks like the rocks there has lighter colour, flatter, and more sandy.
its not bright enough imo, when i when to italy it felt so much brighter in a way i cant quite describe...
I don't see any problem in that screenshot. For me this road looks beautiful (best pic from Italy so far). Looks very promising for some kind of rally stage. I hope there were some improvements in towns design. That was so far only issue what I had with Italy. Well, maybe also grass near the roads looks little bit off. If think about it... I think I know what is wrong with maps in BeamNG. Everything looks good as far as we don't look at the buildings. Roads going up and down on the hills. In open fields there are a lot of height change and then bam, houses. Whole flow is ruined, because they are placed on table flat ground. This isn't big problem for standalone houses but in towns and big building complexes this is sometimes very unnatural.
It's likely because of all the trees and rather overgrown look to the place. I wish roads would have less bushes around them, really makes parts of maps feel smaller than they are.
I speculate that the update won't be released this week, but maybe with saint pattys day? That's a holiday-ish time for them to put some pun in the title of a devblog.
Not really. Saint Patrick's Day is only observed in Ireland. Even as an irishborn dude abroad, I never celebrated it, so I doubt they would in Bremen.
