Update Speculation thread

The BeamNG devs have never done anything in relation to their anniversaries. A major update within a month of the last major update is unheard of. The chance of an update tomorrow is LESS than BeamNG hiring Ivan Lochov to run the repository. There is no evidence of an update whatsoever. Taking a quote from Tdev: "Go outside and get some fresh air".

 

That's what they want you to think.

 

That's completely false. I'd say there's a small but very possible chance of an update tomorrow, but -100% chance Ivan will be hired.

 

That was intended to be a joke regarding the extremely low chance of a major update tomorrow. :|

No game usally does 1-4 year anniverseries though 5 years are common. It is rare that Beam teases something already in the game that is not released in the following update. Also the potential update could be a hotfix, as in preveious hotfixes new configs, cars, and maps have been added. as recently as 0.11's first hotfix we got a H-series Belasco city config. In 0.13's second hotfix we got more stuff like white steel bus wheels and realistic Wentward prices. If one would go and look at the latest hotfixes each hotfix was released about a week since the preveious update. Look at how it is so far: July 13-July 20-July 27. August 3rd is 1 week from the second hotfix's release. You could say I'm a glass half full person.

There's probably a few other vehicles still in development (that will come in later updates) we don't know about.

Anyway, the devs had leaked quite a bit before the automation update, but recently it has been quite quiet.. hmm i hope things are still on time..

It might be a skin for a car?

 

I think it might be for the D-Series (it was the first vehicle introduced in the game, first debuted in the tech-demo).

 

Have you guys forgotten about that little car that has been in development for months? It's been around 2-3 months since the first picture where it already had an engine, so it might be near completion or complete by now.

 

The bus was released shortly after first being teased. Being that there was about a year between that and the vehicle before it and things have changed in that year regarding the dev team, I feel that it is reasonable to entertain the idea that they are trying to tease cars closer to their release. Lessens the possibility for impantient community members if an issue occurs (Both of the vehicles released before that hiatus had issues concerning their release (botched outsourcing job on the LeGran and Gabe’s wrist injury got bad around the time the Hopper was released) so it’s understandable that the team would want to take precautions).

Or the Wentward is just a strange exception and things will go back to how they use to be. Also perfectly possible.
