@Nadeox1 we're all worried that the Halloween update we have been waiting 2 months for will just be a modified winter mod where you run over pumpkins, and spooky music plays in the background. But, I seriously hope that they haven't done that, and they probably haven't, there are probably some incremental updates, like maybe that safari scenario, and a few configurations.
I'd bet there are going to be some new features in the next update, not just pumpkins and sp00ky bois.
I have a feeling there's something they're not telling us. Nadeox has been unusually adamant that we "wait and see," seemingly confident that whatever is coming in the update will silence the skeptics. It may not be the Bluebuck or Wendover, as some have suggested, but there's something on the horizon. (insert joke conspiracy theory about a collaboration with Marvel, Thanos car)
Something people might not consider when expecting a new vehicle every two weeks: Often times we need to research and develop completely new features, things that haven't been possible before. A good historic example for this are slide nodes that are needed for certain suspension setups. Those that are around for longer will remember this issue. The Autobello also has never before used features that require research and experimentation. Now you might ask why we go through the trouble of adding novel features if we could just use what we have and push out new cars like that. The answer is simple, we enjoy researching these things and pushing the boundaries of what is possible. That's what this game is about after all.
I now declare the next 5 pages to be dedicated to speculating about this feature Should I try my hand at conspiracy theories? The above statement, plus TDev’s recent gravity sneak peak... The Autobello is actually Unicron.
Oh no... ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ Who dares awaken me? I hunger for SLIDENODES! Anyway, I suspect the new feature might be torsion beams.
This is the problem with devs these days. Don't they know we expect an update every other day? Damn devs calling us ungrateful, we know you're being paid 1000 dollars an hour, and you don't even respect your userbase! Those 25 dollars was like losing a part of my soul, I MUST be compensated!
Can we get a little hint which "section" of the vehicle Required those new features ( i am currently more excited for any of the new possibilities rather than that itallian-german thing). My guess would be either what has been introduced in one of the previous updates (air coolled engines) or improvement to straight cut gear simulation which wasn't really good before. Another thing that I hope to see some day is some sneak peak on all of the calculations you do to figure out engine thermal efficiency, friction, inertia and fuel consumption.
I know all of the devs are doing a great job, but vehicles cannot be the only thing the community feels like we need. That is why we have a modding section. Things like slide nodes, small extra things to help with vehicles, can help the community create and help the devs make an amazing game.
You said it best. The way they've been teasing Italy and the Autobello is exactly what I noticed too. They both were teased as if we can expect them in the next update, but now it sounds to me like the update that'll have the Piccolina and Italy is not coming until 2019. At least we knew the Hopper still needed work when its thread was made, because we could see it in the picture that there were things on it that were missing, like headlights, seats, and presumably the steering wheel, since it appeared to be using the Legno Classico. It's also unfortunate how people hate the Automation update. I think it was a good one, and I've enjoyed what it brought to the game.
I don't think that they've been "Over-teasing" Italy and the Autobello. Being the biggest projects BeamNG has ever seen, of course there will be more teasers because it's what the dev team is working on. How does this help in any way? I do feel a burnout in the general community, but all that accomplishes is a dumb hashtag.
I'm just excited for the new update, even if it's small and a halloween game we can speedrun it and do all that stuff. Since it's beamng someone will find a way to jump over a skyscraper and then like land on their roof in a way to not damage their car all to save 2 seconds to get that last pumpkin or something.
Honestly, I'm quite happy to see that the game has updates that have new content everytime but as @Glitchy says, the Italy thing is in development for almost 2 years and it's like, it sure looks like it's done but like. Don't mean to rush the things up but do the devs have a person who tests the maps and tells them what is good and what is wrong/bad? If not get a person already, as I said before, don't mean to rush the things or the update but still. Don't mean to search for drama or anything, but as Glitchy says too, well, ya' know, a game works when people criticize the game for the bugs, etcetera. We don't need to live in a world in which everything's perfect and yell at the creators/developers everytime that the game is perfect, acting like a completely dumb and a completely blind person, you need to search the bugs and mistakes and then show it to the devs so they can see what's wrong and then try to fix it in the next update. Well, sorry for the off-topic bit but every time we post like, a feedback or a complain card for the game's bugs, there are persons who act like fucking morons (again, didn't mean to start drama up sorry), giving the message right at your virtual-self and insulting you with words they don't even know the meaning of, what I mean with this, is that you devs need to divide the work into parts, like. In the first part: A group of persons who know how to develop games with physics meanwhile a person is supervising the place. The second part: A group of persons who know how to moderate a site, like, a group of moderators so they can take care of the forums and make it a better place instead of this Hell. And the third part: A group of persons who know how to fix the bugs the game haves. And the last part to end this off-topic bit is the thing people have the most fun doing: The Mods I like some of the mods people do like Stoat's Gladiator/Coronet, FirePower's Falcon, Blijo's mods, etcetera. But still, we have one part that most people do and many people don't like, it's the meshslap/bootleg mods The meshslap/bootleg mods are the thing most people do, it's about stealing a 3D model, later find a jbeam (so the car can fit in) and then slap it, later they copy/paste the meshes and then boom, done. We need to at least, try to stop that kind of mods, they're not good, and well, to also stop persons to upload stuff that has viruses, like BeamCar. And well, that's the off-topic bit, I hope drama won't start instantly after this long off-topic bit tho. To end this long message, I have to say, BeamNG overall is a great game and I accept it. But it haves its things, I know it's in alpha stage but it haves to be a bit better, like, release an update/hotfix that only focuses on fixing bugs and improving the performance of the game, graphics, etcetera. And if it takes a long time it doesn't matter, I'll wait what it takes to do this update until it's finally here to satisfy everyone. Thanks for seeing this. -Jota3214
I'm 99% sure they already divide their work and from what we know the Italy map is going to be the biggest and most populated map to date and frankly that's all I need to understand that with them working on this map for two years is worth it.
..... I literally said "when the devs are silent and it appears all the man power is on the new map or the new vehicle" Like I don't mean to be rude but I never said it like it was a definite. Also I have said this a million times I am either asking that the devs be more open or they cut the bs, working 2 years on content for it to get to final fit and finish and have massive performance issues is not good practice. Think of it this way if I was a brick layer and worked on a house only for the wall to have a hole in it when it was finished I would receive a bad rap. But if 6 months before the house was finished I came out and said there is a hole in the wall and it will be fixed when the rest is finished people would be understanding. Thats why open communication is important, it doesn't have to be "the update will include" I am only asking for whats being worked on and how, can still have some secrets. Its really not an unreasonable request.
this is a new project from them and they want it to be as good as possible because every single time they release something that isn't perfect on every level they get hundreds of complaints and frankly I'd like this to not end up like WCUSA
So I see my reply about not having anything to do without a new car sparked some response. I know developing a car from scratch takes time, but I remember the times when we would get a new car with each update. I was hoping that with new people on-board, car development would ramp up. I'm just really disappointed we haven't seen a new vehicle since April. I don't interact much with the rest of the features that were implemented, hence why I'm losing interest in the game. Take all the time you need, just don't post pictures of a nearly-finished car before an update if you don't want people to get excited for no reason. If you like the updates and progress that's being made, good for you.
