https://www.beamng.com/threads/development-media.24313/page-3#post-1033169 First in-game video of the Gavril Bluebuck.
Saw that Nadeox posted something in Development Media Opened it Mobile device freaked out again (those videos are hit or miss on my phone for some reason) Got my hopes up and ran to my laptop Was not disapointed Certainly laughing a lot at the shape of that frame. Over the years there's been some inconsistant talk about it from devs, nice to see it as is.
Here are the versions I the Bubu will have 232 I6 291 V8 353 V8 423 V8 291 V8 RS 353 V8 RS 423 V8 RS Taxi Police Lowrider Custom --- Post updated --- i hope the thread gets opened agian, though
I was told there would be no x-frame, wtf? Also, looking at the body thumbnails, it does look like they made the styling a bit more conservative. I am very pleased with this, if it is true - can we get a better look @Nadeox1?
IIRC in 2012 Gabe said there would be "no x-frame shenanigans" but in 2014 when a user asked about an X frame car, Nadeox said there is not one, another user said the Bluebuck will be, and Nadeox just said "not one yet" in response to the Bluebuck being referenced as an x-frame, suggesting that perhaps the Bubu (that's my favorite name for an ingame car now) was changed to an x-frame a very long time ago. Or everyone just forgot the plan and gave it an x-frame when the Soliad became a coupe, which is honestly probably the more likely option. I don't even know if Nadeox was officially with the team when he made that comment I referenced.
My only question now is if there are trim levels planned (i.e. 60s Chevy B-Bodies/Impala, Bel Air, Biscayne), such as Bluebuck (of course), Grand Marshal, Bussard, Blackstone, etc.
Time for me to ramble on a bit about trim levels. I've always seen the Bluebuck as mostly a Dodge 880, but seeing that X-frame makes me lean more towards the third gen Impalas. Chevy has had a tendency of starting their famous car names as trim levels of other cars, so it would be funny to see some sort of confusing name cross over with another Gavril/Burnside product, even if it is just a reference to something on the concept list. Also, the Impala's were the first Chevy's to receive the SS badge, so a Bluebuck Roadsport with a larger than sensible factory engine option would make sense (1963 Impala had up to a 7L V8, the fourth and fifth gen got up to a 7.4L V8). Overall, the factory configs should be as expected. Base model with an i6, 2 or 3 medium size factory V8 options and one large one for a special edition Roadsport. An automatic transmission with not many gears, a manual or two with a couple more gears. It would really be a shame to not see a period correct gasser, dirt racer, oval racer, more body styles, and so on but nothing in game has those so we probably won't be seeing them. Probably will get a modern pro-street drag car like the other's currently in game. The big question for me is what we will see for a low rider. In the introduction we got to this vehicle nearly 6.5 years ago (wow) Gabe himself mentioned "it may be a popular choice for a low rider in the future". When we got airbag suspension for the bus, multiple community members pointed out how useful it will be for a Bluebuck low rider. Will we get a classic low rider, a silly hopping car, a senseless donk, or all of the above? Speaking of the donk, I'm still a bit annoyed that the LeGran's video has a kind of donk LeGran but there is not an official config for it. We might get another movie car reference config, as the Impala's are such an iconic car and the Bluebuck could pass for some other similar cars too.
We're bound to get a stock drag version, since all cars made before 1985 that can fit a supercharged V8 do. However, the drag version for the Bluebuck could be a gasser. I also feel that if we get multiple body styles and one is a coupe, we will likely get a dirt track car and/or a Nascar-esque race variant. By the same token, feel that at least a lowrider version with airbags is inevitable, even if it doesn't have hydraulics. A donk is less likely, but possible. For the factory configs, I have a feeling that it's going to be the Barstow's factory configs (Minus TrackSport, Lancehead, and Kingsnake unless a Coupe is offered) plus a taxi and police version.
The current drag car situation IMO needs to be cleaned up, they are kind of weird as is. I would love to see the official configs listed as real drag car classes instead of just "drag config". As for gassers, the '53 Special and Barstow are just as deserving of a gasser as the Bluebuck is, so I don't see the Bluebuck getting a gasser unless we get gasser configs for the other cars. However, cleaning up old configs and adding new parts for the older in game vehicles is not a priority for the devs currently, so I doubt we will see that. As for body styles, nearly every car in game needs multiple body styles, but we don't properly have any. So that is an issue for the race cars on top of having the same issue as the gasser does, where the other old American cars are equally deserving but lacking. Considering we have the airbag suspension, at least basic hydraulic suspension should be included in the low rider. I imagine anything more extreme will cause problems, but if we can get something with at least enough strength to throw off a hub cap I will be happy. As far as I can tell, cars of this era got skipped in the taxi world. In the 1960's older cars were still being used, and by the 1970's stuff like the later gen Impala's were already being used. I wouldn't mind seeing it, but I don't consider it to be a mandatory inclusion.
I like the idea of the luxury trim of the bluebuck being named the "grand marshal", in the same vein as the impala, caprice, and bel air all being the same trim for a car that ended up splitting off into their own cars. I don't think it should get a burnside name though, manufactures were still pretty touchy on mixing brands in the 60s. For example, pretty much all GM divisions used their own engines and chassis, and Ford and Chrysler tried to keep their luxury subsidiaries well separated from the main brand.
@Nadeox1 should probably reopen the Bluebuck's thread at this point, because this thread is basically turning into it, and this is as good of time as any to discuss it.
Woah I needed some good news, ( kinda a crappy week ) Anyway before worry about trimps and all that good stuff. let's just say it has a V8. And enjoy it, At first i was silly to think it was a barstow but nope
I'm so happy to finally see the Bluebuck in game. Actually, AFAIK they've been a thing since at least up until the 1990's.
Also, could we be getting a new engine model for the older Gavrils? I only say this because the Bluebuck tease didn't have an engine model, which would likely be an almost direct port of the Barstows', and it may hint at a new mesh being made.
