    I'm guessing front locking diffs as well, but only on the more dedicated offroaders

    Well in all honesty the D-series is the most dedicated offroader in the base game so far, however I am a bit curious if we'll see anything offroad related for the grand marshal, I know its not the most normal vehicle for offroading but I still am curious why they chose the GM for the demonstration of the differentials rather than one of the more offroad oriented vehicles.

    It could be simply because it has a simple design and it is the first car they implemented it on, or because it wouldn't be hard to demonstrate the tires spinning.

    i hope they add a limited slip center diff
    because right now one axle in the air without lockers or lsds will mean that axle goes to infinity

    currently my "dodgy" solution is to do a criss cross setup with lsds

    it works to limit front rear and side to side slip and does increase cornering g's a little but its mostly open (if i tighten the whole thing too much it wont rev and lugs also cause no low range)

    in some mods i pasted the code to it makes the revs behave funny and might slow the acc a little... mainly because the wheels are trying to work against each other...

    or the react nodes and such have changed since the mods were made so behaviour is different... but for the new pessima based on the 0.5~ version it works well...

    AS for the dirt skins not beater just dirt
    the pickup has a dirty skin (released?) as well as dirty glass and lights
    the fullsize (GM) has dirty skin, glass and lights
    the hatch has both dirty skin, glass and lights and beater skin
    the pessima has just a dirty skin

    Back in the brainstorming stage for this new driveline system, I found it was hard to find good "schematics" of drivetrains to share. So I whipped some sketches. These are not any kind of game art or supposed to be fancy, but they show examples of the types of drivetrains that we have working now in our prototype:

    This is a standard 4wd/awd system using a center differential. Any one of these differentials could be open, viscous lsd, clutch lsd, or locked, or switched between those on the fly, and any shaft could be disconnected on the fly. Oh, also, any torque split is possible at any differential as well.



    Next is what we have been calling a "budget" awd system, such as one that a fwd converted awd system might use. Instead of a center diff, torque always goes to the front differential, but if the front starts spinning faster than the rear, torque starts to transfer to the rear through a viscous coupling.



    Taken to the extreme, here is what an 8 wheel drive vehicle would use if you want it to steer without any binding. 7 differentials! Again any shafts or diffs here could be locked on the fly.



    Here is a somewhat simpler way to do 8 wheel drive, where pairs of axles are coupled with a locked connection.
