14th, even tho it's really unlikely. Also just realised how unactive I am on these forums, i've been a part of them for a while
They put the teaser video yesterday on the devblog, maybe today they will upload another teaser for something who is in this update (maybe bluebuck )
The time between Development Sneak Peek #7 and Electrifying 0.16 was 50 days. Therefore, the time between Teaser video – Remastered and Improved Levels is what??
That video was not a teaser video, but rather a normal trailer like one would see on the changelog. It was released early, much like the Italy and Autobello Piccolina trailers were released a few days before 0.15. Due to this, I would not be surprised if we see the Bluebuck trailer very soon and the update shortly after.
Perhaps there may not even be a trailer until the update is released? I have a suspicion that the devs are trying to keep the Blueback on the down-low to surprise a large majority of the players. Either that or it's just not finished
Doubt it. They've been dropping a ton of teasers on it in a very short amount of time, and stated that it was coming soontm, so I would be shocked if it didn't release with 0.17. It's not really a secret either, so releasing a trailer would probably be likely. I strongly suspect that traffic will be the "secret" part of this next update for reasons I have stated earlier.
Good point. Hopefully traffic may be the secret part of the update as we have had very little news on it for a very long time. If not perhaps there is some other secret that no one knows about? Something that will surprise even the 'superfans' such as yourself. Who knows. I'm just hoping the update contains more than just the improvements to the three maps, because although they're awesome and I'm really looking forward to them, I'm expecting a little more. On another note, I'm expecting to see the rest of the vehicle re-models in 0.17 and hopefully the new world editor. I'm guessing the SBR4, Piccolina and Wentward will not be recieving improvements. The Hopper likely won't either and possibly not the new Pessima as it recieved a jbeam overhaul last update.
There's been a lot of talk about traffic, but to me, it just doesn't seem plausible that it could be in the next update. Don't get me wrong, I love the traffic tool, and I know Gamergull was brought onboard as a dev, but I think to really refine traffic, there'd be a lot of work to be done. It still does some pretty goofy things, such as in WCUSA, driving down the wrong side of the highway, et cetera. I wouldn't necessarily take a lack of news as a sign of it being worked on, but maybe the opposite.
On the map upgrade front, I hope that we still see the Port, Industrial Site, and Small Island, USA improvements shown back in November. JRI really needs work, but I'm not getting my hopes up for a 0.17 remake of it. On the vehicle re-model front: Autobello Piccolina - New enough that it probably does not need a remodel Burnside Special - Not remodeled yet Bruckell Moonhawk - Remodeled Bruckell LeGran - Not remodeled yet Civetta Bolide - Not remodeled yet ETK 800 Series - Remodeled ETK K Series - Not remodeled yet ETK I Series - Not remodeled yet Gavril Barstow - Not remodeled yet Gavril Grand Marshall - Not remodeled yet Gavril Roamer - Remodeled Gavril H Series - Remodeled Gavril T Series - Not remodeled yet Gavril D Series - Not remodeled yet Hirochi Sunburst - Remodeled Hirochi SBR4 - Remodeled Ibishu 200BX - Not remodeled yet Ibishu Miramar - Remodeled Ibishu Covet - Remodeled Ibishu Pessima (Gen 1) - Not remodeled yet Ibishu Pessima (Gen 2) - Not remodeled yet Ibishu Pigeon - Not remodeled yet Ibishu Hopper - New enough that it probably does not need a remodel Wentward DT40L - New enough that it probably does not need a remodel On the traffic front - The Traffic Tool was already completely operational once Tdev hired Gull to join the development team. During this time they have been working on improvements as the core functionality was already in place when it released. Nadeox did post this video back in May. Very recently, Gull updated the traffic tool to be compatible with the official version, hinting at a release in the near future. Hopefully the new AI is released alongside traffic, and the traffic system is far more fleshed out and polished than the mod version. If the official version is completely identical to the mod, I will be very disappointed. I see the mod as a proof of concept, and I strongly hope that the official version is much more polished. The only other slightly possible thing to come out of the woodwork would be the UI improvements, of which we have heard no news for a while.
It doesn't have to be dropped in a complete state. It's been worked on for awhile now and the traffic mod works alright as is, there's a chance we will at least see some basic features.
I doubt that the update will be out in a few days, I think it will take anywhere between a full week or two before we either get the update or more progress photos/videos. While the maps that have been reworked look marvelous, like Crimson Crocodile said, there has to more to this update than a new vehicle and updated maps. I would like to see a box standard Traffic Tool of sorts, and or planetary gravity that has been posted in the Development Media section of the Forums. I can guarantee this upcoming update will be just as good as the others in the past, with constant fixes, additions, and tweaks.
Well in "A Small Car on a Big Map - Version 0.15" devblog they said "Thanks for the awesome year 2018, on to career mode in 2019!" so maybe we will get a bit of it
Just for clarification, the update will most definitely come out this month as the devs are trying to bnring updates every 3 months currently and the last update was 3 months ago
