I‘d hope, that each wheel could be controlled separately but also, that there would be some kind of combination for hopping
It is now about 9PM here in Belgium, and it is exactly the same time in Bremen. So I think it's pretty obvious that the update isn't coming out today. (Excepted if the devs thought about the american players and decided to release the update late in Europe, so it would be in the afternoon in the USA.) Anyway, i'm not keeping my hopes up for today, I'd rather wait and be happy to have an update with as little bugs as possible, rather than having it early and no being able to play it because it is unstable. I know it's hard, I know that kind of everyone wants it, but we've got to be patient so we can fully appreciate the amazing work that the devs have made for us, the community.
I'm excited to see what cars will get airbags and hydraulics, and how powerful those hydraulics are. Previously my best hope was for something powerful enough to knock a hubcap off, but after educating myself (watching youtube videos, since I don't live in Miami or LA), I noticed that many of these can do slap wheelies or remove their own rear bumper for regular maintenance. That would certainly be fun, especially with a high windspeed. Hopefully anything that can reasonably fit the hydraulic/airbag suspension will get it.
A boring 1980's melty underpowered fullsize FWD faux luxury car wouldn't make sense for any of those except the donk, which.... well... I guess, if we ever get the parts necessary for that. That would require a lot of new wheels though (or atleast one set, which would be rather underwhelming), which we really do not need until the UI comes because the tire selector is a mess as is.
Something like that would never show up at my local track, though I can't speak for any other tracks. The only FWD cars with small engines that we get are smaller cars from 10 years after the Wendover is. The only fullsize 1980's stuff we get are V8 and RWD A Covet style beater would be cool, but the Covet is the only one in game with something like that sadly, so I wouldn't expect a generic beater. The Moonhawk, Barstow, and Bluebuck all have those weird desert raid beater things instead, which wouldn't make sense on the Wendover. The last boring car we had was the LeGran a couple of years ago (the bus is too unique to be boring), I'm almost looking foward to another boring car. Hopefully after that we will see something that is not American or post 1980's Japanese though.
I mean, you could put nearly anything in a derby, so why not. You could go to a derby in a MINI Cooper from 2003, you'll probably die, but no one's gonna stop you.
The saftey inspection crew will stop you. =P Official demo derbies usually are in one of a number of classes which limits things like the engine and car weight, along with mandating certain saftey rules. I'm no expert, but there's a healthy number of IRL derby drivers on the forums who would know about the possibility of a Wendover derby car better than I do. --- Post updated --- He has made it clear he wants to be a backseat moderator, acting like a 12 year old in charge of other 12 year olds. Just ignore it at this point.
