Good point, though I was mostly trying for variants with the same displacement per cylinder and more or fewer cylinders. The 2.4L I6 would give a 1.6L I4 and 2.0L I5 (the four in this case would be an older engine, possibly the first of the family, or else used in very low-end Euro-market-only compacts), while the 3.0L I6 would give a 2.0L I4 and a 2.5L I5. The I4 from either line could also be adapted to create a 3.2L or 4.0L V8, possibly for a sports or luxury range-topper.
Might just be an Automation car being used in the video since they can have Inline-5s but wouldn't make sense if development is being done on it. That's what I've thought of at first.
Agreed, true LSD is better than fake LSD. Because more wheel torque. When using an LSD at slippary surface or drive aggressively, more torque is transferred to the more traction wheel, for example 25%/75%. In the same case, an electronic brake diff do 25%/50% because braking does not transfer torque to the more traction wheel and there's 25% energy loss. Modern vehicles use more of a single type of diff, these are: Mechanical LSD: Open, Clutch LSD, Geared LSD and Viscous LSD. Electronic LSD: Clutch LSD where the clutch is electronic controlled, torque bias ratio is adjustable on the fly, however it still cannot trasfer torque from the slower wheel to the faster wheel. Torque Vectoring: With the use of additional gearset and clutches this type can transfter torque from the slower wheel to the faster rotating wheel. Traction Control: Brake the slipping wheel to regain traction, can use with both open and limited-slip differentials. Brake Vectoring: Brake the wheel to improve handling, regardless of wheelslip, can use with both open and limited-slip differentials.
not an automation car. i have made plenty of I5 automation cars and they dont sounds the same not this either. Shifts too quick, like a modern auto (ZF 8 speed like). and this would make my I5 Pessima totally inept in WBIMP. I had the idea first devs! Again, this would make my I5 ETKI in WBIMP inept. Dang you, devs! but seriously, the shifts were too quick to be an older car. it was too responsive. maybe a sequential? but it didnt have sequential sounds... couldnt have been a manual, and not a DCT (no shift pops) This is truly perplexing...
Well I still prefer to think this is another case of weird test bed rather than get my hopes up for something random, but I guess if it's time to play this game again... AWD, borderline modern, 5 cylinder engine. That's Volvo and Audi wagons and sedans, the second gen Audi TT, and... That's it actually. There's also the option of a hatchback if we consider the second gen focus (which was Euro only) and Golf mk4 together. Considering how many sedans we have overall and the fact that every official wagon we have is a modern Euro, I doubt it would be a wagon or sedan. And the TT's have always been on the Golf platform... So, some sorta small-ish sporty mid-priced Euro car? That would be pretty useful for career mode. *End conspiracy theorist mode*
im hoping for a Fiat Coupe type dealio with an AWD variant based on the TT (cuz ya know, BeamNG aint real life)
I did not know about that car. That would also be a sensible option and perhaps give us a second Autobello. So, more reasons for a midpriced late-90's/mid-2000's small-ish sporty-ish Euro.
Again pointing towards my Autobello theory. That said, how can you tell it's an I5 and not an I4 or I6? Even-firing, single exhaust engines should sound about the same, right?
Each layout, even with the best possible exhaust, will have a distinct sound to it. But it does definitely shift too fast to be a manual. I myself cannot shift like that, and I already upshift too fast for my clutch to keep up with half the time. Thus it's not likely to be an ETK 2000i (sadly). A modern Jargl, ETK, or Autobello is what this points toward.
firing order exhaust acoustics bore stroke displacement tune in the game? it's in the files here's a list of all sounds currently in the files, used and unused the one in the video is the I5 sound. How do I know? i use the exact sound in all my I5 WBIMP engines
Tbh I hope it’s not another ETK, because both them and Hirochi already have multiple modern cars in game. A modern Autobello would be better but I personally wouldn’t be looking forward to one. A Jargl would be interesting and this is probably what I would want it to be but I’m not sure if the devs would still use the Jargl brand (if they were even the ones to come up with it) due to google coming up with “girl squirt” if you were to search up the original Jargl Squit that was on the concept page. I still have some hope of it being a crossover but sadly it seems that it will be a more sportyish car than a cheapo one.
