More driving modes development: https://www.beamng.com/threads/development-media.24313/page-4#post-1088848 'Offroad' may possibly hint at a modern SUV? Or maybe an ETK 800 crossover?
How hard is it to add motion blur if the devs are redoing the entire lighting system? Mssge 300 very ebic Very cool but rally bolide when?
If we're getting an I5 in a crossover/SUV new enough to be called "modern" by some (so likely 2000s), then the real-life options are: - Ssangyong Rexton, - Volvo XC90 (or maybe even XC60), - Land Rover Discovery LR3, - VW Touareg, - Chevrolet Trailblazer and family.
Where does it say they are redoing the entire lighting system? On the devblog it just mentions that they changed from gamma colour space to linear color space and enabled hdr rendering.
I have concluded that the new vehicle will be a 2000s autobello crossover MPV with a turbocharged inline 5 and active AWD. /s Also, @Devs, can you send a copy of the updated game to the automation team, so they can work on making their textures import better?
*Correction: the real car that will be added is a classic italian rally hatchback with an inline 5 and an extra rally variant for the bolide.
Correction, it is a classic rally Bolide but made by Autobello Corsa with an i5, AWD, electronic diffs, off road driving mode, and a modern automatic transmission.
Alright, so the video that DiamondBack posted on Development Media used a 5 cyl engine sound. And there's rumors about a new Autobello model. 5 cyl engine + modern-ish italian sports car = Fiat Coupé I think it could be a nice platform for a new car. An underrated early 2000s FWD sports car (could even be modernized in its in-game version). Oh and DiamondBack also got back to working on driving modes. (Including things like dynamic exhausts, adaptive dampers and auto-locking diffs for off-road).
There must be more thrust vectoring in game, no I don't mean torque vectoring, I mean thrust vectoring, JATO needs possibility to go around corners. (If I'm not mistaken, my flying wing mod is only mod using thrust vectoring in this game) Of course torque vectoring like in GT3RS would be nice though, which I guess comes with active diff code by quite naturally.
Or an Autobello version of a VW Touareg, which could come with a 5-cylinder diesel. If we got an Italian Beetle, then why not an Italian Touareg? (Hopefully with the V10 option)
Disregarding the comment about Autobello, imagine if we got something like a Volvo XC60/90? It sure would be an interesting addition to the game
There is very little Touareg left after the chassis went to Sant Agata Bolognese. --- Post updated --- It doesn't seem bad. It's a performance car I can actually get into, not climb down into.
I'd love that to be the case, but I'm going to keep my expectations low and assume they are just future proofing. If they're in there adding/editing driving modes, they figure they may as well add something for offroad use. Until we actually see it, I'm not going to get my hopes up for a modern SUV.
I hope we see something like a Swedish Audi Allroad. Pretty unreliable electrically and expensive, but comfortable and built like a tank. Jargl please.
Personally, If we're going to get a modern SUV, I'm going to be a little disappointed, because it would probably end up being a car that like only 10 people would want to use. A car like a vintage American pickup truck or a 1920's/30's prewar car would be a hit with the community, though.
