Spoiler: Off-topic I know this isn't the place to talk about it, but I just have to say it: Everyone thinks the Roamer is based on the Explorer, when really it's closer to the Expedition. The Roamer is to the D-Series what the Expedition is to the F-Series. The first generation Explorer was on the Ranger frame, while every subsequent generation has been on a unique platform. Meanwhile. the Expedition is and always has been on the same frame as the F-Series, just like how the Roamer is on the D-Series frame. Sure, it might look a little like an Explorer, and it is four years older than the Expedition, but the fact remains that the Expedition and Roamer are full-size SUVs based on full-size pickup trucks, and the Explorer was a midsize SUV (and is now a midsize crossover SUV) originally based on a midsize pickup truck.
@SuperAusten64, I do think the Roamer does have a body style that does look kinda similar to the Ford Explorer, but I can agree that the Roamer is based on the D-series. I do actually remember a mod that had a version of the Roamer with 7 seats that definitely feels like it's based on the Expedition. To me, it does kinda look like a midsize SUV, but looks can be deceiving. It may be a full size SUV for all I know.
Finally, I've felt like the only person saying this for years. By weight the Roamer dwarfs the Explorer at a 1992 base model weight of 4650lb to a mere 3880lb (nearly 3/4 the weight!), with the 1997 Expedition at 4800lb, which is the same as a not-base-model Roamer. /rant. I just got excited that I'm finally not the only one saying it.
Alright, I put the Gavril D-series and Gavril Roamer next to each other and I noticed that the Gavril Roamer was very close to being as long as the D-series is. I think you and @SuperAusten64 are correct when you guys say that the Roamer is a full size SUV. By the way, does anyone else think that the devs should add the ability to open the tailgate on the Roamer, or do you already have to option to open the Roamer tailgate?
Sadly the only doors that can open are cargo doors currently. Hopefully we will get the ability to open passenger doors and hoods someday. Short of forcing them open with the nodegrabber at least...
To be honest, I'm expecting the Pigeon's tailgate to be given the ability to open at the touch of a key when it comes up for refresh.
Yeah, I'm surprised the Pigeon' tailgate still doesn't open. You know what would be cool? Along with the "Hinges" and "Break" options, there should be a "Locks" option in the Fun Stuff menu, which breaks all the door, hood, and trunk locks. I should probably go post this in the ideas and suggestions category.
and universal 3-lug wheels.༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つme want 3 lug okudai krw on pigeon༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ and remodel, or at least retexture the interior. and give the 600 config the flames skin.
People hear 5 cyl sound used on testbed while developing new cool features like active diffs, then people start dreaming about new car being added to game instead of dreaming this new active diff stuff that actually is being worked and presented. Can't see anything about new car being worked on personally.
yeah i think we overlooked that a bit even though an official 5 pot would be great, active diffs, suspension, etc are fantastic
Yeah, there are several current vehicles that would benefit from Haldex like thing, SBR4, Sunburst at least, maybe AWD Roamer too if one stretches imagination a bit? SBR4 would definitely benefit from Torque vectoring, which is a thing with modern (like anything last 5 years or so?) high performance vehicles, together with adaptive dampers. eSBR especially could benefit from bit more sophisticated systems as current open diff only is bit limiting, with very stiff suspension setup and tires that are pumped hard, thing just can't really be driven hard with ESC off as one rubber is always spinning or car likes to run like snake in a desert as torque randomly goes to left or right etc. Don't need to mention problems with current ESC and ABS that thing has, so while new more clever parts might not be in next update, some future update could really make SBR4 and eSBR more rewarding experience. Porsche GT3RS, RWD car with 'only' ~500hp can do Nordschleife under 7 minutes with semi-slick kind of tires, way that thing turns into corners and how rubber hooks on rough surface is mind bending, that kind of performance is missing currently from game and way I see new bits Diamondback is working on, is that those would allow SBR4 to perform closer to that level. There is also differences in aerodynamics which needs to be remembered in regards of such performance of course.
if they dont give me beenz i will literally induce shidd and fardd I'm pretty certain the 800 and K series will both get the active AWD, I see no reason why they wouldn't.
I could have sworn we already had that, but I just checked and it turns out we don't So yea, this is indeed a new feature in the new update
Right now we only have sparks and "clouds" of particles. So yeah, this is neat. This is detail I love in Wreckfest and always want in BeamNG.
Reddit's down for me, could someone give me a link to the vid? I'm on a work pc, and they use this crap filtering software which includes youtube. Screenshots maybe?
I don't even know what key to press to open the Roamer tailgate. The only way I know how to open the Roamer tailgate is to use the node grabber. Do you people know what key to press to open the tailgate on the Roamer?
I had a feeling that there was no key to open the Roamer tailgate and the only way to open it was using the node grabber, but I'm glad I asked just to make sure. By the way, I do think the Beamng devs should add the ability to open the Roamer tailgate with the O key.
