Although I don't have occulus rift and probably never will, that is an awesome addition Can't wait to see the game under Torque 2.0
I will definitely get Oculus Rift. Saw some people try it with a level made like a roller-coaster, and they freaked out.
So, I heard you wanted to crash cars irl? Nope.avi - - - Updated - - - Make it run on a 68020 Amiga 1200. 8 MB of fast RAM and Paula.
Things that make a game enjoyable are not about the technology, it's all about game story and levels. Things like Oculus Rift wouldn't make a game more fun.
I'm confused - according to this article the Oculus Rift is one of three new input devices being worked on for Torque3D 3.0. I would say "don't you mean 3.0?", but then it's not released yet. I thought 2.0 was the old version which came out of the Torque team long before they got the Oculus Rift dev kit. I are confus. Halp.
What? Of course it would. The Oculus rift would add to the immersion immensely, which is insanely important in simulators. Have you ever played a flight simulator with and without TrackIR? The difference is astounding. Or a simpler example, play a racing/car sim with and without a wheel and pedals? Technology that helps bridge the gap between game and reality is a great thing. I can just imagine driving the D15 down a bumpy road and turning my head so I can see through the drivers side window, without fiddling with the mouse or a directional pad. Sounds like small potatoes, but gabester has made some pretty interiors, and seeing them in all their glory with the oculus rift would be glorious. I might get so immersed that I'd actually feel scared about crashing it into a wall. Also, when you say that it's all about game story and levels, you're not completely wrong. The quality of the level design and the story all affect immersion. And I assume you meant peripheral technology, as processing technology has definitely made games more fun. Could you imagine half life 2 without the computer power to support all the game engine's physics? Would real-time damage simulation even be possible in BeamNG without it? Point is, in a simulator, the story isn't going to be what makes it fun, it's pretty much all about the technology, and the oculus rift would kick ass.
No Update in over a month! Come on, a hint a clue a forum post not even, all hope i have had for this game is almost gone, they have till this month to give an update! Or i will just delete my account and go in fetal position and cry my eye out until the game comes out which does not look like it will happen in the foreseeable future.....
Just be patient. Have you considered that perhaps they are working on under-the-hood things and don't have much to show?
Maybe not much to show, but at least say something. There's a lot of people waiting for the game that come here every day and they see nothing new for months. That's very disappointing for everyone, I include myself here. And just posting what they are doing is enough, like ''Hey, we're doing this and this right now'', enough to calm everybody down.
