Fixed in the file. The Devs FINALLY added a transfercase slot to the Covet, that's why it didn't drive before this fix
Another thing i´ve noticed is that the Covet 4-spd and 5-spd automatics stopped working. the car wont move in any direction it just revs up a bit and shifts through gears but will not move. Maybe you can take a look. Much obliged. Thanks!
Been playing the game for a while but can not figure out how to install/get this to work. Can someone give me a dumbed down set of instructions for getting this and the covet mods to work please?
First of all, unpack the mod. For the covet fix, you replace the covet_at_logicmod file from the civet folder by the one you downloaded here. For the lansdale, you need to create a folder named "lansdale" inside the vehicle folder, and drop the file for the Lansdale transmissions you downloaded here inside it.
Quite alot of new replies here. Haven't been here for a while. Yes it seems that by adding the transfer case slot into the mod itself fixes the drive issue on the Covet, this might've been the only successful attempt I've made on fiddling with jbeam files lol
Quick question. Can somebody explain me what the difference between 3T21 and 4T21 shiftlogic is? I dont seem to feel a difference between those two. Thanks in advance!
The 4T21 is, apparently, more slushy than the 3T21. Although I can't confirm, since I only use the pack's transmissions on the Sunburst and newer cars
Tested it for a bit and i think i can confirm this. It feels slushier which makes lower end powered models a bit smoother to drive.
First time posting on this thread and I just have to say this mod literally transforms the way the cars drive and adds a proper layer of realism to the game. I literally can't play without this mod cos the stock auto gearboxes are so bad. First mod I make sure to enable after any updates is this! I do have a question though... My favourite gearbox is the Cherrier 9-speed. It's smooth, has great logic and a nice long overdrive. Perfect transmission in my eyes. My request - would it be possible to add the 9-speed from cherrier to the ETK 800? I find the ETK 8-speed, especially the diesel variant, a bit too eager to upshift and lugs the engine which I don't like. Tyyy
I second this but for realism purpose maybe its possible to just cut it down to 8 gears since the 800 has an 8-spd. otherwise good idea!
I'm going to pursue my new career, and I will likely stop video gaming altogether, at least for now. Thank you for supporting the mod! Permission: It's allowed to upload updated/modified version of this mod to the repo and/or your own discussion thread.
Let there be a reminder that the worker is a slave to the government. neither communism nor capitalism will solve this problem. I wish you the best of luck!
Well, the ETK's 8AT is based on the ZF8HP transmissions, so it doesn't make sense to change the gear ratios. Try using the normal variant on your diesel car and let me know how it behaves. Also, try using a taller final drive ratio, so you can have longer gears overall. For what I saw on the files, the Vivace's 9AT has longer gears overall. The 1st gear is 3.33:1 and the 9th is 0.53:1. But the Vivace also has shorter final drive options (3.389, 4.187, 4.37, 4.55 and 4.86), to compensate for the longer gears. At the same time, the 8AT has shorter gear ratios (1st is 4.714:1 and 8th is 0.667:1, but the ETK siblings have longer final drive options (2.81, 3.15, 3.23, 3.46 and 3.91), with the ideal ratio for the diesel engine + 8AT being the 2.81. Final ratios with both transmissions in 1st gear, and the longest diff ratio on each car: Vivace: 11.28:1 ETK: 13.25:1 Final ratios with both transmissions in their last gear, and the longest diff ratio on each car: Vivace: 1.80:1 ETK: 1.87:1 Assuming both cars with their longest final drive ratios, the 9AT is just slightly longer geared than the 8AT on the ETKs, so, considering the power difference, and the weight difference, I don't see a reason to have a 9AT option for the ETKs
Yes you are right. Its just nitpicking. All the wonderful transmissions in this pack work nearly perfect so im very happy to have it and i hope it will have a long life since they changed shiftlogics code not too long ago and Default Player kindly made a major update to 0.28 standards before leaving the project so i hope it can live on long enough with your support until the devs finally overhaul automatics themselves so there is no need for a mod like this anymore. Every new update especially with a remaster or a new car is a love/hate relationship for me because i just dont have the abillities to maintain this on my own but cant live without it so yeah i hope for the best!
tbh, the only problem I find with this mod is that sometimes the DCT transmissions dont shift gears when putting 100 percent throttle. apart from that, this pack is excellent.
I had this issue before, I did post about it but it didn't seem he was able to find/fix it, I do hope this is something that gets fixed in the future because it happens very often for me.
Just like the original beamng DCT, it should be able to add shiftlogic delay to the automatic transmission when changing gears, like automatic transmissions in most cars.
