Can I upgrade the CPU on this from an i3-370M to an i5-2xxxM(or any other Sandy Bridge)? It has a 989 socket so it supports both 988A(Nehalem) and 988B(Sandy) according to multiple sources. The only things I am concerned about are: 1. BIOS microcodes missing 2. HM55 chipset Do you think an upgrade is possible?
Nope, upgrade it to an I5 560M or an I7 640M they're both hyperthreaded dualcores like the sandy I5's so you'll probably get around 3/4 the power of a I5 2520M with a 640M.
