This post triggered me to register and make way for my comment (that concerns many comments in many modding in games which I've been following for somewhat of plentiful of years). Apologies, if my comment may sound arrogant, my point is just to make modding more clear. 1) D5 platform Audi A8 comes with sole gearbox, meaning, its the ZF8HP (hybrid has same, but a little bit different just to suit integrated PHEV). ZF8HP is the so called "tiptronic" which in essence is the conventional gearbox with torque convertor. No matter what, it is same on 3,0 V6 (aka 55TFSI), 60TFSI/S8 TFSI (4,0 VAG V8) and diesels, with various versions for upper torque figure config. Never ever there have been DCT on any A8 (D2 to D5 platform). Only ZF supplied automatic gearboxes or manual only on D2 A8 and sad horrible FWD versions supplied with god awful CVT on D3 and D4. So I don't really understand why would anyone ask for manual, when we certainly know this size and particular model never got a manual gearbox. 2)Now we come to the one of the most iconic mistakes in modern Audi's mods (same I've seen in other games as well). We look at the reflector you've made for fog lights and immediately I say "aha!". And we know for sure, as of D4 A8 this place in lower bumper is somewhat dark and you can guess what it is, right? That is NO fog light, that is ACC unit. As of long time ago, Audi supplies its Adaptive cruise control units with two pieces, one on the each side - 'main' and 'slave' one actually. So it is no fog light, see below please: https://s3.wheelsage.org/format/pic..._a8_l_60_tfsi_quattro_70_0c040ba80e1d0a95.jpg 3) I would also suggest not to go with 'antichrome' etc. options as it kind of makes things strange (not existent manufactured options, rather see audi.de configurator, for reference. 4) What about engines? Is it planned to distinguish 55TFSI (I see on pic) and V8 being S8? What sounds are planned to use? I know it might be difficult, but so it is. 5) About wheelbases - that's the pickle. A8 comes with SWB, LWB and Horch which is longer than LWD, hence three wheelbases. I see that as ignored as well. I did not go any further, but such are the simple main things. The open question is, why the mods (clearly, we are talking about a copy of IRL Audi A8, not lore vanilla) are being made when simple things being not researched? I bet, it is easier to implement anything that suits when the talk is about vanilla, heck, be my guest
thank you! Hello at first. 1) yes, the A8 does not have a DCT, but a Automatic with Converter (Wandlerautomatik) as you said and a manual transmission is not planned at all. But I think having the Option to equip a DCT is a pretty cool feature. 2) Yes, you are right. The round black "acc units" are not fog lights. I will fix that soon! 3) "Antichrome" configs have been changed in the latest udpdate. 4) The current engines that are available on this mod are the 55 TFSI 3.0L V6 and the 4.0L V8 TFSI for the S8. But the 50 TFSI and 60 TFSI engines are also planned. 5) I know that the A8/A8L and A8 Horch have all different wheelbases. Tho i only have the base 3d model of the A8L, i will not include any more wheelbases in this mod. Please note that this mod is not intended to correspond 100% to the original. This mod should look good and be fun. If it is that depends on verybody's own oppinion.
