The Carina was a smaller, Euro-oriented alternative to the JDM/US-focused Corona.

The first few Coronas were their own, smaller models, that were often sold concurrently on export markets.

Just gonna make a whole list of Sunburst generations to make it easier not to bombard the thread with these suggestions. (also made some edits to the model years in this post)

    1965-1969 - 1st Generation
60s Japanese first-model sub-compact sedan/coupe. Based off the first gen Corolla, but with a similar rear and wheels to the Subaru 1000.

    1970-1974 - 2nd Generation
70s sub-compact sedan/coupe. Mainly based off the Corolla, but with a similar front end from the Laurel.

    1974-1981 - 3rd Generation
mid 70s to early 80s sub-compact sedan/coupe. Mainly based off the E70 Corolla, but with the rear of the 2nd gen Accord.

    1981-1987 - 4th Generation
80s sub-compact sedan/coupe. Mainly based off the Corolla, but shares a similar front end from it's Daihatsu counterpart, the Charmant.

    1982-1987 - 5th Generation
80s sub-compact sedan. Based off the Corolla, but shares the front end of the Chevrolet Nova. This generation almost aligns with the fourth generation, just like the real 4th/5th generation Corollas.

    1987-1995 - 6th Generation
Late 80s to early 90s sub-compact sedan. Main base is the Corolla, but with a similar front end of the Prizm.

    1995-2002 - 7th Generation
90s-early 2000s compact sedan. Based off the Corolla, but with a similar front end to the Sprinter.

    2002-2006 - 8th Generation
2000s compact sedan. Based off the Corolla, but with a similar front end of the Camry

    2006-2012 - 9th Generation
2000s-early 2010s compact sedan. Based off the narrow model, but with the front end of the widebody model.

    2013-present - 10th Generation
2010s compact sedan. Based off the Corolla, but with a similar front end from the tC.

Sunburst is too sporty to be based on Corollas, Novas and whatnot.
Styling a car after bigger cars will make it look like that Chinese microvan with MB ripoff front.

    Carina E ≠ Carina.

As mentioned, the "E" was just a Euro-spec Corona. But there were Carinas before it.

For most of its life, the actual Carina model was meant to bridge the gap between the smaller Corolla and the larger Corona.

    1960 - 1970 Jargl V1900 - Volvo P1800, Mercedes Pagode, Lancia Flaminia GT
1960s Swedish RWD, front engined (FR layout, longitudinally positioned) sports coupe/cabrio/shooting brake. Coupe and cabrio are based on Volvo 1800, but with Mercedes Pagode grille and bumpers, rear end from Lancia Flaminia GT and interior from Mercedes Pagode, but with Volvo 1800 steering wheel. Shooting brake (V1900B) is based Volvo 1800ES, with Mercedes Pagode tailights. There would be 1 minor facelift in 1966, concetrating on bumpers and mechanical stuff. It would have some versions: V1900 (basic version), V1900C (cabrio), V1900S (sport version with stronger engine and rear discs), V1900I (version with injection), race, rally, old and weathered, Restomod (with tuned engine, rear discs, etc.), detective, etc. There would be 1 engine option, 1900cc with 80 HP (with single carburetor), 110 HP (with double carburetors), 120 HP (with injection). There would be 4 and 5 speed manual transmission. Body type is unibody coupe/cabrio/shooting brake. Suspension is independent, double wishbone on both axles, with all 4 coilovers. Brakes are front discs, rear drums (discs on 1900S and Restomod).

    -Why it should be added?
-We don't have any 60s European coupes/cabrios/shooting brakes, nor official Swedish cars.

What the fuck should I name the models then?
    Can't be a Covet, can't be a Pessima, can't be a Sunburst, can't be a Miramar, can't be it's own model... ugh....

Long ago I made a suggestion for Subaru 1000-based car that I called Hirochi Comet.
You could use that name if you want.

Interesting, but the majority of these generations would always be Corolla based. I'll delete the "Impreza generations" and replace them with more Corolla based generations. (I will also keep it with no name for now)

IMO, older generations of Sunburst (from 70s and 80s) should be mostly based on Subaru Leone.

Well, I guess I have to keep them without a name for now, as nothing will fit.

It could be the 1st gen. version of the Covet... also, why can't it be it's own model?

    1. The Covet is more reserved for something like the Civics.
    2. It would be though, but I have no ideas for a original name yet.
    3. Well, not my problem there are a few underage people in the forums. I also was a bit sick (not as in a illness) of having to edit my posts constantly from criticism (or if I realized of a error I made), so I did a bit of venting.

I understand. Here are some ideas for names:
    • Cruteworth J68
    • Clatwold L430
    • Crayeton N50
    • Hanley 22B
    Just some ideas!

The Covet is the compact mundanemobile (apart from the late 80s and 90s), the Pessima is the midsize mundanemobile, the 'Burst is a compact with sporting pretensions (that don't always surface) and the Miramar is the OG midsizer with a JDM focus.
    --- Post updated ---
I always saw the Sunburst as an Impreza/Lancer.

It's no longer a Sunburst, as it doesn't quite fit the generations listed in my posts. I don't even know if I want to keep it a Hirochi anymore.
