Isn't an extended 4 door Roamer based on the D-Series just a Roamer LXT? Or an LXT35 if that isn't D-Series enough. A two door Roamer seems to have a lot of supot in the community. A 1995+ D-Series would be a fair bit of work for what it is. Cut the Roamer off at the B-pillar to make a new cab, new pannels for the short and long bed, completely new cab for extended cab and crew cab. The maintenance costs would probably be pretty painful. I'm all for new content, but I wouldn't want to be the one to maintain something like that. All for esentially a reskinned D-Series. --- Post updated --- What does this have to do with the Pessima? I know the 90's Pessima and gen 4 Lancer are both Japanese FWD i4 budget cars, but suggesting the Pessima turned into a WRX/Evo/Sunburst competitor is a bit difficult for me to see.
1986 - 1990 Gavril Shepard (Based off the 1986 Ford Escort and Chevrolet Chevette) The Gavril Shepard was a car designed to get great gas mileage at any cost. However, toward the end of the first gen Shepard's life Gavril had a change of heart and tried to make the Shepard into a hot hatch due to the success of hot hatches in Europe. This unfortunately didn't go well in the land of obesity and SUVs, so Gavril decided to turn the Shepard back into a gas sipping eco-friendly and ego-boosting car for the next generation. Trims: Clunker: The Clunker is a Shepard X 3 door hatch that has seen it's fair share of abuse at the hands of a handful of teenagers. The body is covered in scratches and rust spots, the passenger door is a different color from the rest of the body, the right rear window has been shattered and patched with duct tape, and the head gasket on the 1.9L I4 has disintegrated. X: The Shepard X was the base model of the Shepard lineup. It came as a 3 or 5 door hatchback and a 5 door wagon with a 86hp 1.9L I4 coupled to either a 3 speed automatic or 4 speed manual transmission and didn't come with much in ways of equipment. XL: The Shepard XL was the most popular model of the Shepard due to the minimal price difference between it and the X while having various amounts of improvements. It is powered by a 90hp 1.9L I4 coupled to either a 3 speed auto or 4 speed manual transmission, and unlike the X it came with A/C, a Radio, front bucket seats, and chrome bumpers. It is also available in all 3 body styles of the previous trims. XLS: The XLS is almost identical to the XL, but with a few key differences, such as a 108hp 1.9L Sport I4 coupled to either a 3 speed auto or 5 speed manual transmission, leather seats, alloy wheels, integrated plastic bumpers, chrome trim, and optional fog fogs. It is also available in all 3 body styles of the previous trims. Sport: The Sport was Gavril's attempt to turn the Shepard into a hot hatch. It is powered by a 110hp Sport 1.9L I4 coupled to a 5 speed manual transmission. It has also been given lightweight cloth bucket seats, sport suspension, 4 wheel disc brakes, sport tires, different bumpers, a small rear lip spoiler, ABS, sway bars, and a limited slip differential. It was only available in a 3 door hatch body. Sport Turbo: The Sport Turbo is a Shepard Sport that's been given a small turbo charger that increases it's horsepower from 110 to 125. It's also been given Turbo decals on the bottom of each of the doors and a small boost gauge on the drivers side A pillar. Street Tuned: Born on the streets of the West Coast, this Sport Turbo Shepard has been given the necessary upgrades to fit in the with early 2000s street racing scene. It's been given a slightly bigger turbo and a massive tune up that increases it's horsepower from 125 to 220. It's also been given racing bucket seats, a nomi racing wheel, a full roll cage, 5 spoke alloy wheels, street legal racing tires, racing coilovers, racing sway bars, racing brakes, an aftermarket body kit, halo headlights, a whale tail from the 1986 European Rally Car version of the Shepard, small twin hood scoops, nitrous, and enough street cred to put your foot in the door, but not enough to get to the top.
