1991-1997 Meridian Alqoy (Global Motors Vessel and 1995-2002 Lincoln Continental) The Alqoy originally was shown as a concept car in late 1989 and was launched in late 1990, the Alqoy was one of Meridian's luxury vehicles. It technically was a poor mans' Grand Marshall or Sentinel, but despite it not being grandiose as it's previous related cars, it definitely got you from A to B with extreme ease. It decreased in popularity once times moved on and the Alqoy series was put to an end after the last generations' production officially stopped in the early 2000s. To this day the Alqoy is often appreciated by people who don't want all the fake bling bling and fanciness modern cars have. If you buy an Alqoy, there is no 'this' or 'that' it's reliability at it's finest and shows what American automakers really can give if done right. The Alqoy became popular for taxi and police vehicles during the 90s and early 00s. The Alqoy is a decently sized sedan placed on a front-engined, rear-wheel-drive drivetrain. And finds itself between the middle/entry-luxury vehicle class. It was sold in the USA and Canada. Configurations: Fleet: This trim variant has been made for the usage of police cars, taxi cabs etc... All of the body molds are in plastic, basic steelies. And it holds a fresh and pure interior without any features for departments or companies to fill it in with their own stuff. It comes with a 4.6L V8 engine coupled to a standard 4-speed automatic. Desio: The most basic version for the public market, with more interior features, slightly more chrome on the exterior with smooth hubcaps or big fancy centercaps. And comes pretty much with the same 4.6L V8 engine as before. Still pretty standard and absolutely not luxurious. Lantar: It holds the same engine and transmission as it's previous trim level, but comes with an upgraded appearance which mostly adds chrome trim and nice wired hubcaps. Has a slightly better stereo system and AC unit and comes with leather seats this time. Executive: This is where the luxury starts, whitewalls with the best chrome spoked wheels you can have, digital gauge clusters, an upgraded dashboard with high-end leather seats and doorcards and has an optional landau roof for that extra sense of luxury. Features the same engine as before. Grand Cruiser: Limited edition that comes with an unique trim styling with a custom stripe across the body and a darker colour tone for the lower side of the car, custom badges and slightly increased performance on the engine. Two tone plush and leather seats with it's special two spoke steering wheel and interior decoration with the best features possible. And custom wired wheels with an interesting logo on the center cap. The engine is now also coupled to a 5-speed automatic and styles two sporty exhaust outlets for better airflow and sound. Only about 200 exact models were built. ABS came with the Grand Cruiser. The car is mainly very beaten up, scratched, dented and old looking. Non-factory configurations: The Grand Skeevemaster: This Lantar has been through literal hell, it's special dark green-blueish paintjob is not so special anymore, barely any of the hubcaps remain and several trim pieces are really chipped. The hood is faded and rust is slightly beginning to form on the right side. The windows are old and the headlight plastics are yellowed beyond recognition and the front bumper has been replaced by a plastic one once. All the chrome is worn and faded and the leather seats are cracked and torn along with the interior that is worned out and dusty, and has a fuzzy gray steering wheel cover. The left corner of the front corner is scratched up and has a big gash in it, along with a very dented up left fender and the front bumper is slightly jilted downwards. Atleast the engine still runs, kinda. Pimpmobile: Comes with a custom white and metallic light blue two-tone paintjob, chrome and light blue pearly special rims with narrower whitewall tyres, sports a small spoiler on the back along with tinted lights and windows and comes with a custom mesh grille. The engine is slightly upgraded and now has a turbocharger. The interior has been changed into dark red checkered seats, a custom wooden steering wheel, a speaker setup and various gang related items in the back seat. Belasco Taxi: A yellow and red paintjob with plastic bumpers and several taxi decals and stickers across the Fleet body. And comes with several taxi sign and paintjob options such as a fully yellow cab, yellow and red cab and a green and yellow cab. Police: A fleet model retrofitted with police gear, bull bar on the front and a slightly upgraded engine. Comes with an older lightbar model and has a New York State Police livery (lore friendly). Design: The Alqoy did not undergo any major changes to the design through it's production years apart from some crash testing changes, interior upgrades and updated lights but still in the same design type. The Alqoy's front and body shape will mainly take inspiration from Watch dogs' Global Motors Vessel while the rear fascia is based on the ninth gen Lincoln Continental. But it also takes several design clues from the second gen Mercury Grand Marquis.
