plz reply. In the material.cs it says polo1rockstar and polo2rockstar but the rockstar skin still does not show up.
Hey, this beast is FUN to drive man! But just out of interest - is it really realistic? I mean I can get up to 100km/h in about/less than 3 seconds, that's sick compared to the bolide car which needs way more time. Annd I'm gone, driving this crazy beast across stunt tracks, haha.
Yeah, that's what I am talking about - 0 to 100 seems too fast in this one and it's top speed is less than 243. So I am just wondering, since the devil is in the details, what can be done "wrong" in this simulation? Motor performance? The rubber/track connection? I mean no offense, the work on this car is immense and beautiful, I am just trying to understand BeamNG and the user content in it.
Its because there are so many things that can adjust how a car performs drastically. Modding for this game is not as simple as telling the game how fast a car should accelerate or behave. The acceleration depends on what the engine specs are, what gearbox you attach to it and how big the wheels are. You adjust any one of those things in some slight way and everything else suddenly changes too.
Okay, thanks for the replies guys. Jesus, I don't even want to start to try this hahaha. Big props to the modders here.
Its not so bad once you have learned how everything works. But there is a pretty steep learning curve. But i would recommend learning to do something simple like creating a box since its a good way of learning the basics http://www.beamng.com/threads/2728-Tutorial-Creating-your-own-vehicle
Higher acceleration and lower top end speed has a far simpler explanation. Final drive ratio is different, in fact on real rally cars they change the final drive ratio on a per track basis. Decreasing it will increase speed but decrease torque and hence increase 0-60 times, increasing it does the opposite.
Somebody really needs to make a guide of some sort on how to switch skins.. I have tried everything for the last hour and its driving me insane..
