Right now, it is right hand drive, for use in countries that use RHD, but when it is finished, I will try to make a LHD version too, for other parts of Europe. It will also be able to be driven on the USA maps too when it is LHD
well usdm makes sense designline ecosavers or in europe called Olymbus are european buses but they had usdm too usa version just change clearance lights like ones on every american bus mandatory by the USDOT i dunno if already this had imperial units or metric units and it will be compatible with your mercedes benz engine mod
I was waiting for someone to pick up on what real life body it was! Bonus points to you! --- Post updated --- I am very happy to announce that the modelling and texturing stage of the bus is complete! There is nothing else that I need to model, and everything has some sort of material linked to it. The next steps are creating a new vehicle and JBeaming the parts to BeamNG, which might take the longest out of this project
Sorry for the bump but is this mod still being worked on? There hasn’t been an update in almost 5 months.
Hello, yes this mod is still being worked on. I am in the process of importing the meshes into BeamNG, but I cant seem to get the materials right. The front is getting done, but the headlights are giving me trouble. Only the light prop works, but it actually doesnt go white and light up on the mesh itself. Once I get the front done, I'll add a new post. I am also trying to finish an update for the transmission pack at the same time, which is nearly done.
BeamNG Update #1 A very long time has passed since the last update, and I am sorry about that. I decided to work on the transmission pack and create some new gearboxes, aswell as update the 936 mod. Anyway, the chassis, engine and driveline, front and rear suspension, exterior lights and front and rear fascias are completed. I also re-routed the pipes in the engine bay and changed the exhaust to be under the bumper. Excuse the material errors, that will be fixed soon
I have been thinking of how to incorporate my gearbox pack and engines pack to this bus, but I know what to do now. When the bus is released, you will need to have the transmission pack installed, and either the OM936 or OM447 engine installed. Reason why I am doing this, is because its easier for me to update one file rather than two. So whatever changes are made for the DT40L are made in here at the same time, same for the engines. It also makes it easier to update, so instead of updating both mods just for a small logic change, I only have to update one, and it will reflect in both buses. I hope you can understand why I am doing this. Even if I was going to do a transmission and engine included with the bus, the mod engines I make will overlap, cause problems, and there'd be doubles. Thanks for understanding! If you have any suggestions, feel free to add to the thread. I'm all open to ideas!
That's completely fine as having to require another mod to make use of the main mod is nothing new here in the BeamNG Community, you've made really promising progress and keep it up! Hope everything goes well in the upcoming work you're doing cheers.
