as did i, but A. it wouldn't let me save the removal of the car without changing something (for some reason), and B. that excavator was a very high-poly model, and there is a chance it could change fps, even very slightly. but mainly reason A.
Oh ok --- Post updated --- Hey so I just noticed Beta 2 did not fix anything for me I have no Idea if anyone else had this problem, but... I am about to try reinstalling it but I just wanted to make you aware that this could be an issue. Will edit post after reinstall. EDIT: I just reinstalled it with the same issue. Oh well I still love the new feel of WCUSA it makes the map so much better to have the blue skies and better sunlight.
I'll try it without reshade. FPS kinda dropped a little, reshade might be a cause. Also, maybe fill in this space in the city? (didn't you say you would make a mall?)
California doesn't mean yellow and palms everywhere Would it be possible to only include the files you changed in your ZIP, (for example, why include the art>buildings folder with all the original textures and meshes, if those aren't changed?) Also a tiny issue: You have these .TER and .JSON file outside the west_coast_usa folder. Those are not used, as the level json is pointing to the ones inside that folder: You can probably remove them and save some kb.

... There are reason for that, mainly to compensate where the lighting system is lacking at the moment. See the comparison screenshots in the first post. The sky is so bright it's burning at some angles, as well the colors of some bright-colored buildings/objects being directly lit by the sun. Sample:

That's my fault. Do I just have to change the pathing from west_coast_usa/art/building into (using example ECUSA ECA buildings) east_coast_USA/art/shapes/buildings/eca? I always did include textures in my maps. I thought I need to include the textures bc the official maps are in another levels folder. Or does the mods folder the same as the 'content' folder, where all the official vehicles and maps and more are stored?

Hey so I just had an idea... Once you are done making this map, could you maybe do this for the other stock maps too? This mod made the environment so much more friendly than stock BeamNG and I find it to be way more enjoyable to play with the light modded than stock. Just another sugestion Keep up the great work!
yeah, and in fact the main reason progress has halted (which is totally not related to a lack of ideas for the map), is because i want to wait for italy to come out, it will be BEAUTIFUL!
I am ready for that too. Super excited. Does that imply that whats released now is final for WCUSA or are you just waiting for italy? Also the Devs like releasing things on holidays and with memorial day coming up in the US..................
