My question is quite simple: What are cover points? There are all these objects in the map editor, which are causing quite a bit of lag (about 5 seconds to select an object or do anything else, however closing the folder in the editor panel makes it disappear, so the lag is not my concern). I noticed they appear to be for AI navigation, but cannot figure out what for exactly.
Sure: This is what they look like in the scene tree. (Note the scroll bar, there are quite a few, all the way to the bottom) Here are the points in my map. They appear to be around most objects, including plants.
Did you add them manually? If not, where is the level from? These seems to be some left-over from T3D First-Person-Shooter stuff, which are useless for BeamNG.drive.
I just noticed they were there, I didn't place them, and this was my own map (based on the assets of East Coast USA, however it was almost entirely made by me)
Maybe they got generated from that 'World Navigation' object you have. That should also be a left-over 'FPS' thing. It's of no use in Beam.
I have deleted them from my map, and nothing seems to be an issue, AI is fine as well. At least I can reduce 10 MB of file size of my map.
