Between me and my grandfather, the passenger side floorboard of the Z got brackets welded in and primed, and the driver's side floorboard is more or less screwed into place so we can weld it next time.
i bought a crashed car. Trying to fix her up. It is also an Mondeo MK2 as my V6 just as 2.0 r4 automatic. 3 Airbags deployed when the crash happened. Engine runs great, automatic transmission shifts very good, climatics cools down very fast. No Rust, ~80k Miles (130k kilometers) 1 Owner (pensioner) taken care of very well with services. Lots of electrical goodies like sunroof, all windows, park distance control, heated seats and a lot more.

Well, this gets better and better and my lovely Mondeo V6 died today. The engine roasted itself. It looks like the Oilpump failed while driving. Rip the engine. Going to change the whole engine in the near future. It runs barely and knocks hard.
Let's try dat toothpaste thing Before : While : After : It's not to bad, It's better than what it was but I ran out of toothpaste.... So yeah, it definitly work, But would probably better on a more recent plastic, mine is 60 years old you know ^^ I did not expect much result so I'm more than happy, light can go though it now !
If you want that finish to last I'd recommend spraying the plastic with some UV resistant clear coat.
I can't use sand paper, because the 2 sides are oxidised, and the interior have obviously a special pattern to diffuse light better, and also a small fragile band of chrome !

This was the problem Previous owner bought it like this apparently, and left it for over a year. Can't blame him; I called around Sydney for days but couldn't locate a replacement guard. Headlight assembly was pushed over the bonnet and rubbed against it and the guard when raised/lowered. Needs a new headlight shroud. My old work would've binned the guard due to the extent of the damage, but I had no choice but to repair so with some gentle persuasion by jumping on it, the repair begins. The guard was badly stretched in several places, so it had to be massaged back into shape with a hammer and dolly. The repair has to be of a high standard to restore strength and minimise body filler. The paint was removed to facilitate the repair and to allow the filler to bite into the guard. Bought another set of NB8B wheels. NB8B brakes, semi-racing pads, and braided lines in. No playing around here- the standard 14" wheels don't clear these. Some angle grinder and tinsnip work was required to fit them in. NA6es have an excessively strong front brake bias so an NB8B proportioning valve was installed for better balance. The harmonic balancer had a horrible wobble, which is a telltale sign of a badly worn crank keyway. Timing was retarded several degrees, and the engine stumbled sharply under throttle at high RPM as a result. In order to perform a 'Loctite fix', I had to order a new crank gear, crank bolt, and woodruff key from Japan. Whoever told me parts for MX5s are everywhere is a big bullshit artist. As suspected, the keyway was badly damaged. Slathered the crank nose in Loctite Quick Metal, reassembled, and went for a drive after it set. Timing stayed put, engine sang, and the brakes bit hard. There isn't much more satisfying than building a car up yourself. Picking up an NB8A rear driveline/suspension assembly soon so my 4.3 Torsen will live in the car instead of sitting in the shed. Coilovers and turbo rebuild is next.
Drivers window rolled down on its own and wouldn't roll back up. Had to hotwire the motor. I'm tired of messing with these damn window switches.
Started dismounting the 403 interior. Well, what's left of it at least. Pictures an other day. Oh and rusty screws. A lot of rusty screws.
The yukon has never really sounded "right" to me. It's like it was too growl-ey or something. Didn't really feel like it was down on power or anything, though, and it runs great. I have had a cel on for about 200 miles that I've yet to do anything about, and my gas mileage has been pretty bad. But today I was out hotrodding and in the middle of about the third 2nd gear pull in a few minutes, it suddenly started sounding different. No pop or bang or anything, the sound just changed. It sounds "right" to me now. Healthier and more free flowing, if I had to find a way to describe it. It might just be me but it also seems like the throttle response is a bit better, and it just kinda feels like it goes through the gears at part throttle a lot "happier" than it used to. The cel went away, but it's come and gone in the past. So what gives? Anyone have any ideas? Chalk it up to the good ol' italian tuneup? Scanning the codes would probably give a pretty good clue as to what gives. I recorded a video.
