Well, update time. Escort's coming back together, the shifter situation is fixed, it's running again after some engine maintenance, and well yeah, still needs a lot of parts and whatever but it is now officially driveable. Woot

Please tell me the interior still isn't sitting in your living room.
I gave the crown vic a much needed bath yesterday then posed it in front of the overgrown vacant house across the street for a photo. Also vacuumed the interior.

I also shined the tires which I normally don't do. It looks awesome.

Then I ran over a screw behind Best Buy. So that means both of my rear tires have punctures. It went in sideways and it broke off about half way when I took it out. Tire doesn't seem to be losing air.

About 60% of it is in the car, door panels and other trim needs to go in. Nothing much though.

I think he started taking the interior apart in the spring. Maybe even in the winter, so I wouldn't really expect anything to be done quickly.
I don't know why you'd put that off though. Door panels are usually no more than 5 screws. Some even snap in. Trim is even easier.

All my new parts arrived for her!

Replaced all the coolant hoses and flushed the system, installed the new radiator and fired her up! She needs a new belt but was running beautifully(for an MGB)

Fixed the suspension and steering, and fitted a door and wing from my old (red) car. Just need to beat the sill back so I can shut the door and then I can go and drive her to get welded back up, then it'll be temporary paint job time!

I guess I can understand going a little ways for nice driving roads. Never really had the problem though.

For me it is about a 10 minute drive before I get to the fun twisty roads. 5 minutes of town driving, 5 minutes down an A road (the road I do my top speed runs on) and boom, countryside.

Back home while I was still driving (which I currently am not, the focus is sat in the corner of a field for the time being) it was a case of: oh look I'm here. B645 aint a bad road, a few too many villages bringing you back to 30mph... But the rest is pretty fun WOT.

I need the open road Edinburgh is too congested the speeds I need to reach are well more suited to the open road I need to keep the engine spinning at over 3000rpm and in town thats disrespectful so I have to give her a blast out to Biggar which is over 50 miles away from here and back again it allows me to sharpen my driving skill I am improving its been over 100 days since I passed my test and I need to learn how to control the car at high speed I work things different its the way I work things out in my head...
