I replaced the right headlight igniter earlier today. I had to disassemble the entire xenon headlight assembly, which took me almost two hours to complete. I purchased a used AL xenon igniter on eBay for $40. BMW of Austin quoted me $500 for parts alone.

I also took out the center console and gave it a very thorough clean. The next jobs on my list are replacing the fuel filter, rear brake rotors/pads, parking brake shoes, and steel brake lines.

My auxillary lights were acting up, it would only work briefly at random times. So I fixed that, it was a bad grounding point. The ground wire was screwed directly onto the frame with a self-drilling screw without any preparation of the grounding area at all! So the wire was against paint, not metal...
Why do people have to do so sloppy jobs on old cars...

Well, not today, but over the last few weeks, I decided I need more spring on the grey truck, got a grill guard for the grey truck. pulled the turbo off the red truck, found a nice little ring of black goo on the compressor side. Decided thats for another day, and went battery shopping, and turns out its not as bad as I expected, 800 CCA Exides for $88.00 at Tractor Supply. So $180 later, I have batteries for the Cummins. Still need to change the oil and get 4 new tires for the back, but I'm getting somewhere.
Also, fairly certain that I need to get the front of the grey truck aligned, seeing as how thats the only remaining possible cause for the vibration.

In other news, A good friend of mine brought home his 4th truck this year, 79 Chevy K10, 350, auto, shortbed, 4 inch lift, 37's. had this one home for 4 hours before the whole body got torn off.

Well today got in my first accident. I had some girl in a Ford F150 make a illegal turn and cut 2 lanes while I was turning into the closest lane legally, and I ended up hitting her sidestep/door at about 15-20 KMH. She has no damage except scratches to the chrome on her sidestep. However my RSX didn't fare to well. I included a shitty drawing to show what happened. Thank god its just severe scratching and no actual dent or cracks.

Shits me up the wall when people simply can't drive, and yet choose to drive the biggest, most 'murican thing possible. Only good that comes from it is when they give parallel parking a go; every time they mess up the park, I inch a little closer until they panic and leave. The spot is then mine for the taking!

Looks like the damage went down into the plastic itself. As long as it's not gouged out completely, you can get away with using plastic filler and spraying the bar.

Also, yuck! Polish your lights man. ;)

Yeah its pretty rough, I'm actually surprised for how little damage there was for the accident, but yeah I'll probably fill it and spray it. I need to do my headlights, they are pretty bad. Just gotta find the best cheapest way to do it.

Finally got around to repairing my gouged-out, gutter rashed excuse for wheels. Previous owners' handiwork, honest...

Leaving the wheels in the shop over the Christmas break (I don't know how to mount tyres lel), so babby looks a little funky.

Total repairs cost about $50 and a few hours of my time. Getting them professionally restored is $250 per rim.

    Funnily enough...
    i am a professional.

If her insurance has to pay for this (which I assume since how you described it, she was clearly at fault), I'd get it done professionally. Also get your car checked out for any hidden damages. My sister's Opel Corsa D got backed into at like max 5mph and still the bumper beam (whatever it's called) is slightly bent and it could be an expensive fix.

Its alright, my Corsa C got backed into at 5mph, the damage ran into 4 figures.

As for what I did today. Jump started my old focus that never sold even at the low price of £200. In the time its been sat sitting, the battery has died, the battery also wont take a charge again so once you jump start the car, even after having it running and driving for 45 minutes it wouldnt start after the engine was cut and needed jumping again, minus it being in the opposite corner of the farm... Its stuck. Entire drivetrain has rusted to shit, fluids are all crapped up, theres a hissing coming from somewhere in the engine. Things fucked.

This was over $2500 (but under 3k) when it happened. Was very VERY close to getting totaled.

Gave my engine a lick of paint, it still needs another 1 or 2 coats but it's far better than rust/orange!

This weekend I have been helping my dad fix up the scratches on the front bumper from our 96' Civic I say it turned out pretty well.

    I haven't gotten in a wreck because I'm not a fuckin skrub.
The cop that drove my car liked to back into stuff though. And there's a funky place on the corner of the front bumper synonymous with the damage of a pit maneuver. I can only hope.

even the most cautious driver can wreck. Mine was a case of someone reversing out of a parking space as my car went past. Not remotely my fault or preventable.

although I have given a very minor shunting and backed into a bollard as super minor shit and slightly more major span in the wet after failing to correct for sticking the tail out properly
